Does The Game Ever Get Better?

I mostly only have experience in Platinum divisions and lower so I am curious if I should even bother trying to rank up this season. My main question is, do people at higher ranks know how to play the game? As far as I can tell nobody cares about improving at the game, nobody can take advice or criticism, but does this change at higher rank?

Generally games for me last anywhere from 45-75 minutes, consisting mostly of people chasing kills and having no clue about how to control waves, set up for objectives or trade in lane and it is getting very old. As a support main I can't do much more than get my teammates fed, provide vision for them and set up picks or peel. Do I need to change roles, until I reach a high enough elo that my teammates are able to close games out with the kills that I spoon feed them? Should I just play AP supports and take all the kills? If I do that more often than not I will get flamed/reported and my teammates will throw so I'm not sure that is the best thing for me to do. I'm just looking for advice from some people of higher rank than myself, who might have more insight. Is everyone just a %%%% at every rank or does it get better?

On the rare occasions that I have 2-4 competent teammates, I very much enjoy League of Legends but those games are so few and far between, but does that change with rank?

You should just try changing roles, it's what revived this game for me. When you go into each game willing to play any role and with 100+ champs to choose from it becomes a lot more fun.

As for teammates what you'll need to focus on is getting kills WITHOUT giving deaths in return. It's why I hate assassins and champions like Yasuo, sure they get kills but they feed the enemy at the same time, even worse when it's a constant shut down gold. I suggest trying jungle and top, jungle will allow you to set the pace of the lanes or go 100% selfish if your teammates are idiots. Top will allow you to make big LCS plays and make better engages than most of these donkey players.

Of course it gets better, otherwise we wouldn't be having challenger players today. I'd give up on giving advice though, its not so much skill, but egos that are overinflated in League. As far as Plat players go, I can't really give you any advice as a lowly silver, I can only tell you that in my elo, the better you do with decision making in the early stages of the game, the higher the chances are that people will listen to your shotcalling in lategame. Not everyone is a ****head in Diamond and above, but there are a ton of them. Heck, number 1 challenger in NA for quite a while inS6 was a guy called Tarzaned and he is toxic as hell. But then on the other hand, Arcsecond used to be number 1 right up until he got picked up by and NALCS team (can't remember which) and he is just the awesomest guy I've ever seen.
