Perhaps a fix for "elo hell" Ranked

So with the grade system working quite well, it has occurred to me. This system could be used to take the edge off the so called "elo hell". We all have been there, you fly faster than a speeding bullet and have 45 kills. But you lose your match when someone who afk's or plays poor enough to get then mythical c grade. A simple fix for this could be to cause people who score a lower grade on their champ, to take a harsher nock on their rating. This lets those who truly try their hardest to take a lessened blow. By doing this, regardless of how good or bad your team plays, you are always pushed to play your best. God forbid you loose a match, you can smile and feel good that your hard work has been rewarded. Since it is much harder to get a- to s at higher ranks, it would have a limited impact on current mechanics. At the horrible bottom end however, it would provide a quicker climb to sups and good players who have bad teams, and slower climbs for those who only win off the hard work of others.

If they improve the grade system I'd be all for grades effecting LP gain and loss.

Will it take the edge off of "elo hell"? No. People who believe in "elo hell" will believe in it anyway. It's a mindset that allows them to blame a number of things other than themselves, not an actual problem with ranked queue.

That's not to say there are no problems with ranked, it's just that "elo hell" is it's own monster.

These rating systems dont work well

for example, go into a game as a support and just take all the kills and get high cs. You will get an S+ for sure, but is that going to help your team win? No. In addition this will cause players to feel more like they need to get a good kda to win, which is not the case.

Finally, if you belong in a higher rating you will get there, so it's pointless to say we need a new system, since it clearly works and there is little to do to make it better.
