Need tips on when losing lane hard.

Okay so, I've been trying to play Mid and Top in ranked and there always this thing that happens when my game starts turning bad. So, I played Lissandra top against an Ahri and we had a Kindred Jungle. My lane was going decent, she harassed me over and over (I know this isn't an easy match up but whatever.) My jungle get's caught by a Shyvana and Cassiopeia . I roam over to help, (ahri follows) we fight a little bit and I take a lot of dmg so I back off. Kindred was low on health and mana and she's STILL FIGHTING. She dies, and blames it on me and calls me a whore (lmao). She made a successfull gank after that and takes the kill (but didn't help me push tower after i pinged.) So no i'm thinking to myself "Alright well now my lane is over.." So I try to stay back and farm, but since Ahri snowballed, she harassed me under tower and it was impossible to farm. Even tried to dive me under tower. So later on I lose tower and my team is asking me to help them mid. At this point i'm like 0/3 with like 91 cs at 15 mins. I haven't even gotten tower yet and I just wanted to stay top and farm. Is that the best way to just try and get through a game? I have been told to just stay top and try and get tower and cs. Some say it's bad that I should help my team? Idk what to do :/

when ever i realize im gonna experience a tough match up. I normally rush def items and become very reserved. esp if you are hard countered. Poke when ever possible. never commit unless youre 100% sure it will lead to a kill.

I am a top main, but I play Nasus so my advice may not be as applicable to your specific champion.

A simple decision rubric that I typically follow:

**First am I winning lane or is my lane "even"? **

If yes, then this puts me into a decision-tree regarding grouping.

Is my team winning their lanes or even? If they are all losing, but I am winning or doing well, grouping may help defend a tower. If they are losing VERY badly though, I should not group. Grouping will NOT help me hold a tower and it is better for me to exert map pressure in my lane or in another lane.

If they are winning and you are even AND it is a 5v4 then grouping will likely help. If your team is incredibly ahead, however, don't group because you don't need too. Just put pressure on the map.

If I am not winning lane, then I ask the same questions.

Is my team winning their lanes or even? If they are all losing, do not group. You can't offer much for the team by grouping unless you are a high utility top laner AND not behind. Stay in lane and farm. No point in trying to defend a tower that will simply fall.

If they are all winning lane, but I am losing lane, grouping may help me "catch-up."

I love it when I am split-pushing and my team gets aced and they ping for me to defend a tower. I can't defend the tower from 3 or more people and it is better for me to trade towers than try to back, possibly die AND still lose the tower.

It really does depend on the champion you play, but typically if you are losing lane hard, grouping may not be your best option if you are a low utility champion.

I also look at levels. If the enemy team is about 2 levels, on average, higher than my team grouping would likely not help in any situation. Levels differentials are so noticeable in the mid-game that grouping when under-leveled leads to you sharing XP with a bunch of under-leveled teammates. Then you become under-leveled as well or stay under-leveled.

Okay

First, focus on your own play, you can't control how your team will play, unless they're willing to listen to you and that's probably not going to happen if you're behind.

Next, if Ahri is constantly harassing you, it's okay to give up CS in order to not take skill shots to the face. She'll burn her mana pool and then be helpless while you farm for free. Q farm from a ways away and try not to burn down your entire mana pool in the process.

You need to identify what your team's win condition is, do you need to be teleporting out of lane with ultimate whenever you can? Do you do better splitting against the enemy team comp? I personally don't like Lissandra top, but I've never seen Ahri played top so I'm not entirely certain what I'd suggest in it's place. Lissandra is a champion that with her ultimate basically sets up free kills, so being able to roam either top, bot or anywhere into the jungle suits her quite well, which is why I feel she's better suited for the mid lane, but that's just me.

There's really no one answer as to what to do in that situation, it depends on what your team needs.

go with kindred to get their buffs. They get stronger and help the other lanes

Nobody is going to cry because lissandra isn't one shotting everyone lategame, you can fall behind some as long as you don't play poorly later.

Well, lissandra can freeze opponents, maybe its best not to go alone when playing her so your ally can attack the enemy while they are frozen.

best thing is to hide under turret and wait for help.
