Can we have a serious talk about adding voice comms into the game?

Im just sick and tired of this game without communication. People love to constantly remind each other that League of Legends is a "team-game" yet I feel more disconnected with my team every single match. Its always a battle of, "Everyone sucks, I need to carry them, I must get all the kills or else we pretty much lose because I cant trust them to carry". I feel like I can never risk anything for or with my teammates since I have zero idea what their intentions are with a play that's about to be made. And pinging doesnt tell me crap, its so vague, theres:

  1. "Holy shit gtfo!"
  2. "Help me please"
  3. "Missing" or "Questioning wtf just happened"
  4. "I'm on my way"

Some pretty solid choices for the ping system, but still very vague on things that are said through text chat, but during the middle of a fight, wellllll you're fucked. Can't clearly type during a fight unless you are Jesus Christ himself. You may say we can ping on a champ to know to target, but it goes deeper than that, wanting to know exactly when certain ally's stuns are back up, or gap closers, etc. Then you may say, "well you can ping your abilities", but even then its almost like we are constantly inching our way closer and closer to voice chat to communicate with the team without actually having voice chat. Does it not get to the point of just fucking add it in already?

Now I know the one true answer as to why they don't add it in....Cyberbullying.. OH NO! NOT CYBERBULLYING! ITS TOTALLY NOT LIKE YOU CAN MUTE SOMEONE BEING TOXIC AND IT MAGICALLY MAKES THEM SILENT..... /s

Sarcasm aside, people being toxic happens everywhere, in everygame, its never going to be avoided, thats why games have a mute button. Imagine a game like Counter-strike. Imagine in a parallel universe Valve decided to be a snowflake company, and decided that "oh we can't have voice comms in cs:go, people will bully each other, wahhhhh". Imagine it without comms, how completely shit cs:go would be without comms, zero way to callout, only text chat. My god that game would be dead within minutes. Its a soul piece of the game, communication, its not just about aim. Its about strategy, plans before each round and heavy team-play. Isnt that the game Riot wants this to be anyway? Cause that's all they usually care about is the Esports scene. If you hopped into a match, and someone immediately started flaming, it wouldnt be difficult at all to simply mute them and have fun with the other 3 players. Now if they are a 4-stack? Just dont join voice comms if they are toxic, play your game and have fun. Who cares what 4 douchebags think. Its a bloody video game.

I feel voice comms would be an amazing addition to the game to complete turn it around. I feel myself could even become a better player, knowing before a play, should I go in or not? Maybe my mid suggests lets not since whatever reason they give me and I can learn from that, rather then diving headfirst, then my teammate says "Report, trolling" and now we start flaming each other. I want to be in sync with my team, not completely disconnected then feel like shit after a bad play.

Thoughts.

there's so many advantages and disadvantages to voice comes in game

First - CS:GO is a terrible comparison. If I don't like your popping teenage voice telling jokes only you think are funny while you blare your bad music, I mute you because you weren't going to say anything helpful anyway, and 5-10 minutes later the match is done. If the entire server is full of popping teenage voices telling awful jokes and attempt to one-up each other with bad music, I can just leave the server! I can go to a new server, with a new community, and I can keep doing that until I find a server that has actual adults. If none of that works, then I can host my own server and moderate it as I see fit. None of that works in League.

Second - Muting someone's voice becomes increasingly problematic the longer they've gone expecting everyone to be on voice chat. You can see this with premades (particularly premades with new players) and you can see it in the LCS - pings get phased out completely or reduced to the ambiguous blue dot with voice explaining what the pulsing circle means.
