A bit of inconsistency In blinds and blocks .
There are a couple of weird conditions when it comes to blinds (such as Teemo's Q) and blocks (such as Jax 's E).
I will begin with Jax's E by supplying the actual description of the ability.
- ACTIVE: Jax enters a defensive stance for up to 2 seconds, reducing physical damage from basic attacks by 100% and area of effect abilities by 25% for the duration.
Now a lot of people know that Jax cant block a Nasus Q. However if we look at the description of a Nasus Q you may find that it should block it based on the information given to us.
- ACTIVE: Nasus's next basic attack within 10 seconds gains range and deals bonus physical damage.
Basically what happens is Nasus's Q empowers his next basic attack to deal bonus physical damage on the next hit that stacks gaining more physical damage for each enemy killed by it. Now if you look at Jax's E again youl notice that it is supposed to reduce physical damage from all basic attacks by 100%. Currently it blocks the damage from the basic attack itself but not the damage from the actual spell.
HOWEVER, Teemo is SUPPOSEDLY able to blind a Nasus before he hits his Q and neither the basic attack itself or the spell will do damage. Pulling the definition of Blind from the League of Legends wikia it states a blind is the following:
- Effect: The target cannot perform physical damage with auto-attacks, except with some auto-attack modifiers.
So if you were to base whether a Nasus Q can be blocked by Jax's E by whether or not it can be blinded. Then logically his empowered basic attack should not harm the Jax. Or if you were to base it the other way around then a blind should not effect the damage from the spell itself.
There is a lot of inconsistencies like this regarding blinds.
For example, if a Quinn has blinded a Vayne her basic attacks will do no damage or add stacks on her W passive. But if she tumbles the next attack will deal no damage but the damage from the attack enhancing spell itself will register and add a stack to her W passive. The same goes for Draven's spinning axes, Riven's runic blade, and a few other basic attack modifiers. Yet a Nasus Q would still be affected by the blind even though it preforms the same basic attack modifying as the others.
Now logically blinds and blocks by definition SHOULD block these modifiers but instead it becomes very hard to tell what you can and cant block. And if you are blinded/being blocked what you can do to get around it.
I wasn't sure if anyone has pointed this out before but I thought it should be brought up. There are probably more weird things like these I would imagine (Yorick's Q comes to mind) but these are just a few examples.
