  1. Why his Q does not deal over time damage. (it really feels like it should)
  2. Dont you think that now he is to close to Illaoi from the live perspectives? Trial of strenght is main theme of both.
  3. He will suffer from Thornmail))

For 2., I'd say there's a fair enough difference between the two.

Illaoi is a Priestess of the deity Nagakabouros, whose realm is the sea, the cycle of life, and willpower. Illaoi's role is to give powerful, worthy individuals "The Test" to either shatter their soul, or breathe new life and perspective into them, as living to one's fullest potential is what Nagakabouros, and consequently, Illaoi, are all about.

Whereas Urgot isn't quite like Illaoi - for one, he's actually pretty big on sermons. But, the message Urgot brings is vastly different, and his "Trial" is equally different. But, before going into that, lemme say another thing that separates Urgot from Illaoi: For Illaoi, chaos is simply the consequence of a full life. For Urgot, chaos is life. Chaos separates the weak from the strong, where only the strong survive.

The message that Urgot brings isn't "live life to the fullest", it's "politics is weakness, chaos is strength, survival is for those who are worthy". An easy way to understand both of them in their respective lights is to understand the difference between surviving (Urgot) and living (Illaoi). Surviving is simply being alive, making due with what you have, and just overall not being dead. Living, on the other hand, is capturing your fullest potential, enjoying life, and not bringing yourself down.

And, while there are some baseline similarities (both having some form of rite called "the Test" or "the Trial", both basically involve judging to see who's worth being alive), there's still the differences there. Illaoi tests people for their greatness, Urgot tests people for their ability to survive.

As for 1, I'm not 100%, but I think DoT effects just doesn't feel like a "tank" kinda thing, there might be a little bit of overlap with Cassiopeia's Noxious Blast, and so on. Though, I do agree, with a name like Corrosive Charge and a bottle of liquid Chemtech bursting on someone, it does feel a bit misleading that it doesn't do DoT.

And, for 3. I wouldn't be able to say myself without playing (and also trying to be excessively conscious of the situation), but I think Urgot would fare well enough against Thornmail, since, while most of his damage is AA-based, he's still a Juggernaut, and no doubt will he be a tough one to crack.
