Assasins are by far the weakest character archetype
Yep
Yep
Yea the suck........where did you get that sweet crack rock and where can I get some, cuz you be high AF
Not sure if you're kidding, but we just came out of the cinderhulk/tank meta, where it would be expected that assassins should be weak.
Yi, Yasou, Riven, Vayne, Rengar, Ekko, Leblanc, Lee sin, Tryn....oh I was supposed to only name three.....crap.
Loooooooooooooooooooool
Tank meta died the instant Sated came out, Assassins are back on top. Now instead of extended and coordinated team fights, we're back to 1 second long team fights that are centered around which team's assassins can mash buttons faster.
You're not wrong but that doesn't make you right. While the ability to decimate a single target has gone down in value since the meta changed to favor of long team fights, it still is really powerful to be able to just point at a dude and say "Him. That's the guy that's gonna die" and then he just...does. It's still a strong class despite meta-induced nerfs to them. Maybe because Zed is disabled you've forgotten that.
TBH I feel they're the strongest. During the assassin meta they were pretty stupidly strong and I'm glad we've left that. They really were able to
just point at a dude and say "Him. That's the guy that's gonna die"
Now though, with more tanks in the game and a tuning down of several of the worse offenders assassin is much more niche. It's something you take as a high risk high reward champion. If you want to play an assassin now it requires a great deal of careful positioning and decision making. Skirting a fight until the correct moment to dive in and delete someone. Do it wrong? you get killed (unless the enemy doesn't know what they're doing) Do it right? it's extremely satisfying.
I think a great example of a good assassin is ad shaco. He's really squishy so if he just walks into the teamfight then he'll die right away. So to properly play him requires careful planning (unless your team is snowballing/they're bad etc etc I'm talking about a more or less matched fight). When I play him as jungle it's always really fun and challenging to pull that off. As opposed to the decisions that a tank needs to make these are much more complex.
Sadly by necessity, a balanced assassin isn't seen all that often (kind of like real assassins) but when they are seen, they're really cool and pro.
