Bronze: Building as a Team Player is *Generally* a Bad Idea

I feel like most games that I do NOT play selfishly, build for max kill potential, disregardIng what the team logically needs, realistically loses more matches than anything.

It's a gong show down here and since co-ordination is basically non-existent in such low level of play, when I watch high (or at least high-ER) tier players fail due to lack of said co-ordination while building to compensate for missing gaps the enemy team would otherwise exploit, it showcases "well, if it fails to come together there, why should I expect any better where I'm at?"

Sure, there's common sense in some situations (don't build glass-cannon on a champion whose kit doesn't support an all-in playstyle, for example) but it is frustrating knowing that as a solo player, I have very little choice but to play as if the rest of the team are all concussion victims and their judgement skills are severely impaired as a result so I have to pull on the tryhard pants and carry until they prove they are not incompetent.

I do not enjoy being pessimistic where everyone is considered a liability until I'm shown otherwise. I want to have faith but when so many games are first blood before the second minion wave hits, it certainly triggers me.

Snowballing this season is at its worse than anything in the past with upcoming changes to drive that point even further still. I consider games down here to be a flip of the coin of factors no single person can control and as much as I want to play certain champs that highlight -potential- to complement a team, doing so is generally a bad idea because cheesy mechanics with ridiculous burst all in the same champion is king in League of Ridiculous Expectations.

I have made commentary somewhat reflecting this opinion before but what sent me over the edge to make a thread about it was watching one of my favourite LoL YouTubers. You can see his latest video here:

True, he emphasizes multiple times the gold distribution was very lacklustre but that's not a terribly consistent thing with players who are actually good at the game so can you imagine with a bunch of Bronzies where there isn't even a quarter of the map awareness, people refuse to run from obviously one-sided fights, people will spend more time using /party and /all chat to bitch, piss, and moan more than actually play the game?

If things can go as wrong as they did on his team which that level of play is held to a much higher standard, why should continue my attempts to try to emulate what should be sound reasoning when I can't put any level of faith/trust in people who care more about their KDA than winning in the long-term?

It boggles my mind to know there's very little I can expect if I play selflessly rather than selfishly.
