is this a bug?

why hello there. i had a ranked last night with my friend that was playing support. we had a fight bot and we killed one of them and then the minions put damage on me to execut me and my friend that was playing got the kill. he got the gold and the kill added to our team's kill. is this part of the new patch or just a bug?
