What is it going to take for Riot to nerf Caitlyn in a meaningful way?

She's already pick or ban in pro play. She already has a 30% pick rate (lol) with 53% win rate in Solo Queue. They nerfed Runaan's Hurricane and her play and win rates actually went up.

What does Riot think a 2% reduction in attack speed is going do? It's laughable how broken she is. There's basically no point in playing ADC if you don't pick her or ban her.

Why do her headshots do so much damage when she already has the longest range of any ADC during laning phase? Why can she harass you for free? Why does she get to zone you off your turret or constrict the lane with traps?

Where's the fucken counterplay!? I don't understand how such a broken champion is just left alone. What's Riot going to do next? Minus 5 movement speed!?

I'm convinced the balance team is made up of actual retards.

It's a big drop in attack speed over all. She will be pumping out less dps overall with this nerf big time over the course of the game (34% in total is a massive drop). Riot wants her to be rewarded for proper zoning and ability use with headshots, not just be a rightclick hero. Though she may need another touch-up, you are massively undermining the effect this nerf has on her.

To really understand the difference, play adc without attack speed runes, then put the 15% you would get from them. The change is giant. So do that but double on Caitlyn, and she will be hit HARD.

I think you underestimate the effectiveness of that nerf. Let's take a look at how her winrate changes.

2% attack speed per level is 34% at level 18, and Cait already has a fairly low base attack speed.

This nerf is basically a loss of one attack speed item late game.

It's 2% AS/PER LEVEL which means -34% attack speed at lvl 18. BUT I do think Riot may need to lower the amount of traps from 5 to 3 so people will be smart about their placements.

I've seen post like "I rather go against a cait than jhin and janna." But they still don't understand that caitlyn can 2 shot an adc after her nerf still. Attack speed isn't that big of a problem on cait. Her damage is way too high. When I complain, people just say why don't you just ban her? Think about that. I could ban thresh who can easily get a pick for their team with one hook or Blitz who does the same or Kayn who if snowballs easily does too much damage. Attack speed doesn't matter when you 4 shot tanks or 2 shot an adc. item 3031 item 3087

i'd rather deal with a cait and janna bot lane then have to play a tether champ or lulu to deal with a vayne and nami bot lane

The problem is she two shots the opposing ADC after IE and Shiv. The only other ADC that can even think about doing that is Draven, but Caitlyn is stupid easy in comparison.
