IDEA: non-Random Team Dragons

Due to complaints on RNG Dragons, losing to stacked Dragons.

Idea: Two new Dragon pits on top lane, one for each team. (Imagine Mickey Mouse Ears on top of map, between tier 1 turrets, team pits are crossed-over river instead of same-side). Dragons (element/single-type) spawn in set order, same buffs for both sides, set respawn timer.

This way both sides can get the same buffs, no complaining you got a cloud and they got inferno. Dragon pit is closed-off until dragon spawns in, Dragon initiates combat with x time, other team cannot enter/attack pit. Dragon is very strong.

Complaints

  1. Lacks tactical group-fight If one team decides to enter dragon, it leaves the map open for pushing lanes/counter-jungling or doing your own dragon.

  2. Dragon rushing champions are over-rewarded Dragon is strong enough that no 1v1. You can rush dragons for faster buffs than opponent, but you still have a respawn timer. If they get 2+ cycles behind, they can catch up eventually but it is their fault they are behind on buffs. Opponent also gets more chances to counterjungle and gank while you buff.

  3. Over-concentrates top-side Probably true. Either bot lane moves up or Baron moves down, but Rift Herald is currently not a fought-over objective.

  4. Map is not symmetrical It would be unfair to have one pit be bot, one pit be top. Unless the community is fine with 1v2 lanes (or a new configuration of play).

  5. People can hide inside of new top pits Pit is closed off until dragon, dragon auto-engages. Maybe prevent exit?
