Deathfire touch Rework concept. Just an interesting idea nothing more.
Upon damaging an enemy champion with an ability Death fire touch will deal a flat amount of damage + a % of the total damage dealt by a single ability. Damaging an affected champion again will reset the proc and deal the % damage based on the last ability hit.
DoT effects and abilities with multiple potential damage ticks will only proc DFT after the damage has fully stopped then DFT will deal a % of the total amount dealt.
Example: A champion takes damage from a morgana W and will proc DFT after the damage from the W has stopped and the damage dealt from DFT will be based on the total amount of damage accumulated from the W. If the champion were to leave the W area and proc DFT but then walk back into it they would reset DFT and the proc would stop till the ability stopped dealing damage.
This change benefits DPS focused champions like Swain, Morg, and Brand who can stack a massive amount of total DoT damage on a single ability or Seige type champions with single high instant damage abilities like Xerath, Varus, Ziggs.
Damage total should be totaled up by having a time window for the ability to continue dealing damage before it ends. The reason for this are cases like Heimer turrets where the tick damage is rather slow because of the turrets attack speed.
In the case of wide area DPS champions becoming too strong with abilities that can stack up massive amounts of total damage on several members of a team, a system can be put in place to reduce the effectiveness of the damage based on the number of champions hit.
Example: The DFT Proc from a single ability will be calculated based on the number of champions affected by it. If a rumble ult hits 2 people then the effectiveness of it will be 50% for each champion, 33% for 3 champions ect.
Just an idea to think about.
