Why not get rid of chat?

Typing in chat, no matter the context or the topic, is a risk. You can get banned or tilt someone, even by accident. I've been banned for putting question marks in chat, and tilted someone by the same means. Why doesn't riot just remove chat and leave pings as the only way to communicate? If we can't remove chat for everyone, why not have an option to disable chat? Chat brings a lot of good things to league like coordination and team work, however the bad outweighs the good and chat often starts the loss in a team because of what some put in the chat. If chat was gone, getting tilted would be less likely. I understand that you can mute people in game, though still some people get carried away, myself included and leaving it there as an option still wouldn't be good. In my eyes chat being removed would be an improvement, what do you guys think? This would be a good discussion.

I agree 100%. Believe it or not, I attempted to disable the keybind for [Enter] but there's absolutely no way to do so. Also, I wish I could ONLY disable /all chat from outside of the game. It's way too easy to enable it back in game and risk saying something that'll ruffle someone's precious feathers.

In this realm of gaming, where Riot takes a much more serious approach to communication and offensive comments than the majority of other games, chat disable options must be available. Assuming everyone has the self control of a saint and will allow any situation to go untouched by a comment is pretending we live in a perfect world. It just doesn't happen.

you get banned now for saying the tiniest little thing ever, meanwhile others can flame you all game and tell you to uninstall but never get any punishment...
