Have you ever noticed ranked additions have totally backfired on the people who wanted them most?
Especially the few that have been implemented in the past 2-3 seasons.
The only one I've seen that really, IMO, worked well, was when they changed pick order from MMR based to random order.
An example of when it backfired was when Riot introduced Dynamic Queue, low elos especially said this was good because it'd help encourage them to get into ranked, and damn the ranked integrity diehards. The queue instead becomes a doesn't-violate-ToS boost system with a bunch of players boosting accounts and shitting on said people.
New role select system? Oh yeah that'll make us more comfortable and not have to play anything besides our favorite roles/champions. Funny enough, unless your champion played dual roles, it actually made it harder to one-trick or one-role.
It got even when people doubled down on role select and said that Diamond/Master/Challenger players should bear the brunt of having to learn all the roles so that they could continue having this comfort, and then they got hit with autofill themselves. Ironically, it's less of an issue for the D/M/C players because they usually understand the game well enough to transition to other roles more easily than other ranks (exception goes to Diamond V).
So to everyone who posts here complaining about autofill take note. I refuse to feel sorry for anyone who voted in self-interest without considering the implications down the road. Especially when things go even further south than anticipated.
