Poacher's Dirk

I was thinking about this forgotten item, so I looked it up on the Poacher's Dirk lolwiki page.

I'm noticing that this, according to the Cost Analysis, this item has a 220% gold efficiency value when it has evolved into Serrated Dirk.

This makes me think about the Future's Market Rune.

It is best used to purchase gold efficient items in advanced.

Poacher's Dirk costs 500g.

When Future's Market becomes available at 2:00, you have an extra 160g available for use.

500 - 160 = 340g needed to purchase.

Lets assume the least gold value from 3 camps possible, Buff (100g), Scuttle (70g), Gromp (86g) = 256g

With passive gold generation of 20.4 gold per 10 seconds, after 50 seconds, you would have more than the difference needed to purchase Poacher's Dirk by the time you have finished the third camp.

I haven't done this myself since coming up with the idea, so I don't have an actual time it would take to clear the third camp, but I would assume you should be coming up on 3:00 at this point.

Roughly 30 seconds back to the jungle, then add 4 minutes, giving time for the item's cooldown and opportunity to take 4 enemy camps, you're looking at a completed Serrated Dirk at 7:30. ... and having only spent 340g accumulated from farm and passive income.

Obviously, it is probably better to go ahead and farm to level 3 before backing, and if there is an opportunity to get a gank or two in, go for it. The point is, you should easily be able to afford this item on your first back, with some gold to spare.

Then the time it takes for you to complete the evolution just means you get an even bigger power spike once complete, .. and the gold you have accumulated since can now go toward another component item.

I'll have to try this tonight when I get home from work.

Shh, don't tell my boss [slayer-jinx-wink]
