Is it possible to get to Challenger if I play only Xerath and Lux in mid lane and Nidalee jungle?

Substitutes for mid would be Ahri in case those other 2 are taken, and for jungle I'd choose Amumu if Nidalee would be taken, but otherwise I would only play those three champions, the priority would be in the order I named them.

I am asking this because I wanna know if skill alone will suffice, or if I must learn to play other champions depending on the team composition. Basically, is getting good with the champions I named in the title enough to get Challenger or are they too niche to play in every single game and I would need to pick something else depending on the team compositions? There are some champions that kick ass no matter what if you are good with them (Yasuo, Riven, Vayne, Master Yi) and I believe you can play them 99% of the time and you can win if you are good. I watched Challenger Matches in Korea servers and I never saw Xerath or Lux, and rarely Nidalee so maybe these champions should only be picked if the team comp is right (Pick Xerath if you have a splitpusher cuz you can hold the lane just fine, pick Nidalee if your team has some reliable CC to help you land the spears and don't pick her if they have too much lockdown). What I see most of the time in those games are champions like Gragas, Zac, Tristana, Caitlyn, Orianna, Taliyah, Camille etc.. so maybe I need to play meta champions to get Challenger.

Oh and I don't want to simply have a lucky streak, reach Challenger for a day and then back to diamond. Also, I asked because I was Diamond since Season 4 on my old main and I never managed to get higher than Diamond 2 with them and I never bothered to play other champions, so maybe I should have changed my mains, learned meta champs or those hard to master champions like Yasuo and Riven and only played Xerath, Lux and Nidalee when the time was right. Or maybe I wasn't good enough with those champions after so much time with them.

Anything is possible in EUNE

No, challenger players know how to execute a towerdive on immobile long range mages. If you only play that, and don't adjust for say a Kat that just closes the distance and statchecks you into oblivion you are unlikely to make it that far. Even if you are good enough to make it.

Mastering other roles is a non-issue, because at that elo, if autofill messes things up, someone will always dodge.

Probably doable, although you might make relatively slow progress at times when those champs aren't high tier picks. I don't think either of those champs have kits that are inherently bad at high elo (e.g. garen) though, so it's certainly feasible.

I'm pretty sure theres one tricks for most champions all the way up to master at least, and many reach challenger too, so playing meta isn't a strict requirement. It certainly helps though, especially since theres only 200 challengers at one time, so if theres 200+ players with wide pools that encompass the meta, one tricks (or 2-4 tricks) are gonna have a rough time of it.

Possible? Yes, of course it's possible.

Is it likely? You're really gimping yourself with such a small champion pool, so I'd say no. Flexibility is pretty darn important, particularly when you're facing people who not only understand the game and it's mechanics but also know how to play their champions well. If you're going to try this I would spend a significant amount of time practicing matchups these champions are statistically weak in before giving it a go. If you know exactly what to do when you're supposed to be at a disadvantage you just might pull it off.

In any case I wish you the best of luck, you're going to need it.

as an xerath main i've only gotten to plat 1. You would need a duo partner, as yourself people don't understand how much he needs to be coddled and peeled for past plat 3.

Im honestly impressed that you got so far with those champs. Been playing lux for some time in plat 3/plat 2 rank and wonder why am I even bothering, when viktor or anivia can do what she does but better, legit better wave clear better passives, better everything.

No, urgot is the only champion allowed to be challenger.

Not at all.

Now if you played Nidalee mid, xerath support, and then Lux jungle, you'd have a pretty good shot.
