10 Extra flat damage on Corki's Q or R is what stops him from clearing casters at lv 7

TLDR: Corki is just a few points of damage short of being able to Q+R caster minions at lv 7. Even just another 10 base damage on Q or R would help immensely, since to get that extra 10 damage requires you have Sorcery, Natural talent, and Double edge sword along with another 13 AD or 10 AP from runes.

Tonight i spent nearly an hour trying to optimize my corki rune page with one goal in mind, to be able to Q+R the range minions as soon as possible. Which i would find extremely helpful since you wouldn't have to take the time to auto each caster while your laner looks to one shot you.

Having many a time left the minions at only a few hp i assumed that this would be easy....... no, no it is not.

I chose to go with a conservative time to reach lv 7 choosing 8:45 and amusing that you had a long sword at least by that point. The extra 5 AD from a phage being complete would be largely irrelevant in after Corki's AD scaling was done with it.

Ranged minions at 8:45 into the game spawn with 328 health and have no MR. Assuming your lv seven and max q, Corki's lv four q dose 205 base damage and his lv one ulty dose 75 damage, meaning that you are 48 damage off of killing the casters minions.

Here is the math for how much more damage a lv seven Corki with a long sword would deal in a Q+R combo.

Q's scaling = bonus AD x .5 + Ap x.5

Extra Q damage = 5

10 x .5 = 5 taking the ten since the scaling is off of bonus AD.

R's scaling = .15 x AD + .2 X AP

Extra R damage = 12.75

85 X .15 = 12.75 Taking base ad this time.

Total from scaling = 17.25

This leaves us 22.5 damage short, which must be filled by runes and masteries, assuming we don't want to go off the trinity build path and pick up a pickaxe.

From Masteries we can take Natural Talent, Sorcery and Double Edge sword. Giving us 5% more damage and another 5.08 AD and 7.69 AP.

15.08 X .5 = 7.54

95.08 X .15 + 7.69 X .4 = 17.338

280 + 24.878 = 304.878

304.878 X 1.07 = 325.25556

Testing this on live somehow had the total damage come out at 321.

This means we need either 13 AD Or 10 AP from our runes. Which is full AD mark's and two ad quints or full AP glyph!

Again after testing on live this is what i came to as the optimal rune setup to get there.

3 flat AD mark's, 2 scaling AD seals and 2 scaling Ap seal, along with three scaling AP glyphs

and don't forget the masteries!

Quite the burden to get 10 more damage in our combo.

In the end i settled into taking a doran's ring start along with 3 flat AD marks Three scaling AP seals Double edged sword and four points into Natural talent.

But however you cut it you end up having to dedicate a ton to get just the 10 damage you are off of bursting the caster minions, and even the slightest bit more base damage would make this so much easier.
