High kill count doesn't mean you're a good player, it usually just means you're good at kill shotting and people should stop being in awe about it. Honestly What Riot should do is if you do 70%+ more of a persons health, and they die within x amount of time to you, tower or a teammate you should get the kill and whoever got the final blow should get the assist. This would make a lot more sense and shut down these ks trolls hard. But naturally like most of my ideas that solve big problems, they'll be ignored and the downvote trolls on here will do there thing.

So supports will get a ton of the early kills? Leona Karma Blitzcrank Brand Annie Anivia Lux Morgana Sona Teemo Thresh Veigar Velkoz Zyra Zilean These people can only support because they can bomb the crap out of the enemy team(or go in and do half the enemies health in damage before the adc even starts attacking (>>)Blitzcrank) , and have the adc take the last hit. So no, this is a terrible idea and would cut the support pool in half. And Assassins? They would be useless as they rely on the kill gold to fuel their effectiveness. Remove the ability to take kills if they are behind(and the ability for allies to feed kills to them) would be absolutely terrible.

...I'd be lying if I didn't have a similar thought at one point. But that will cause some rage because god knows it will be fuzzy at times. If two people do 50% of the damage, someone has to get shoehorned into getting the assist even though he did just as much work. Same applies to 33% damage for 3 people, 25% for 4 and so on. Someone will always get the short stick and always think they deserved the kill.

So then to make it fair you have to make a complicated algorithm that calculates how much of the kill gold each person gets after each kill. Then you have the problem of thee not being enough gold to go around if all you are doing is splitting 300 gold evenly among even just 2 people. Then you have to either increase the reward gold to compensate, and even you run into issues for when someone scores kills on their own. SO THEN you need to go back to your original algorithm to change the total reward gold to compensate for the number of precipitants and still have it fairly distribute gold. Then you have item prices, support income balancing to do, etc.

Its more complicated than you make it out to be.

Bumping this because this really needs to happen, entirely too many selfish trolls in this game who only succeed by stealing from others...the game should not reward this and give the rightful person(who earned the kill) the money and credit. This isn't complicated or hard to understand, part of the reason this community is so toxic is because certain aspects of the game facilitate toxic behavior, such as this. If Riot really wants to change the games reputation and accurately reflect who earned what they'll make this change and players will adjust their behavior to actually be a team player who earns what they get.
