"Open Mid/Top/Bot" should have never been a thing. Lack of surrender options are to blame

It is really disheartening when these types of games happen. The type where 10 minutes in your teams score is 2 to the enemies 36. For me these are the worst LoL games i can play. It feels awful when i am on the winning end and even worse when i am on the losing end of it.

But when i hear the enemy team or my team say "open lane" it almost flat out ruins the game for me. When that phrase is said i find no one is having fun anymore and both teams are stuck in a very negative game experience because of a system that is forcing the losing team to stay in that experience.

"Open lane" can be said for a lot of reasons. Not just one sided games, you could have a feeder, a rage quitter, a toxic situation. Regardless i find its a phrase that was created because of a frusterating flaw with the surrender option.

When a team agrees to open lane at 10 mins it usually means they give up. Their moral is shot, they already feel terrible, they lost the will to play and the experience is so bad that they just want it to be over asap. Thats how i feel anyway.

With that said. 20 mins for surrender i find is to long. You are basically forcing a team that is getting beaten so bad and a team thats already morally destroyed to stay in an already negative experience when honestly if they are having such a bad time then they should be allowed to surrender and leave. Its heart breaking sometimes when one sided games like this happen. Most games that are super one sided are detirmined at the 10 min mark anyway. To force players into a one sidded hopeless game for 20 mins or face punishment just feels bad.

I also think with lower surrender times we will see a very little less quit/leaver buster punishments, as if a game is so bad that players are willing to take the punishment and leave anyway just to get away from the negative experience.

Thats just my opinion anyway.
