WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING?!? Please, someone explain - Unfair Matchmaking!!!!!!

I have been struggling with this issue for a while now, so I tried playing on a new account (because I thought that might fix my matchmaking issues), which is level 22:

My team: Support (Me): Level 22 ADC: Gold II Mid: Plat V Top: Diamond IV Jungle: Plat I (former Diamond)

Their Team: Support: Gold III (former Plat) ADC: Plat III Mid: Gold I Top: Plat III (former Diamond) Jungle: Diamond V

WHY?!?!?!?!?! PLEASE, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, EXPLAIN THIS TO ME! Why do I CONSTANTLY play with such high ranks, even on accounts that aren't even level 30 yet?!?

I am so unbelievably frustrated at this point. I can no longer enjoy this game because of this. I would REALLY appreciate someone explaining to me why this keeps happening, no matter what account I play on.

Thank you

Because most <30 accounts play botgames unless they are smurfs. Because the smurfs will actually scare away new players by flaming them because of how bad and n00b they are.

You get matched based on MMR, which is based on wins/loses for one. So if you win a lot stomping the actual new players and lower tier smurfs you start to get matched with higher MMR players. Such as a Plat 3 Tank Toplaner that plays Adc in normals because yolo. And subsequently has a lower MMR than the skill level you take him for being plat or diamond or whatever.

Normal & Ranked are separate MMR I believe. If I'm right a challenger player who's never played Normals could end up in your game because their Normals MMR doesn't yet have enough data to place them higher. They'd have to win a good number of Normal games before they end up in games higher than say the equivalent of Gold ranked MMR. It's entirely possible that they'd play their first Normals match against Bronze 5 players if they've never or only rarely played Normals on that account.

If someone who mains one or more roles in Ranked plays other roles (or who has never/rarely played certain champions and is trying them out) in Normals, they could be playing at a significantly lower level and end up matched in Gold or so MMR equivalent games, when they'd normally be Diamond+ in their main role/roles.

That being said, all of their experience is probably going to make them generally better at the game even when first timing a champion/role than much lower MMR players. Normals is known for this issue.
