Regarding Rumble

It seems that not many players play him. People will wonder why, but it's actually quite simple. He's fine, he does not need a buff, does not need a nerf, doesn't need anything. He's just different. His laning phase is weird, as he doesn't spike with skill as hard as other champions do. His power spikes come when he levels his Q, which comes after level 3 since you will want to start with E, and then get all skills before starting to max Q. His Scrap Shield can be seen as a extremely short and unreliable source of mobility, but its low cooldown and defensive shield is actually pretty nice. The movement speed is just for sticking onto targets when using Flame. His ultimate actually deals a TON of damage. If the enemies are caught within it for more than about 3 seconds, it already deals as much damage as other ultimates of similar utility, and it has a heavy slow paired with an immense range. His Heat is also something people are too afraid of to learn. It adds up, like Fury and Ferocity, but instead silences you when reaching the max, but gives you a nifty amount of magic damage on your basic attacks. Overheating at the right moment may actually win you fights. With Flamespitter on and slaming your target with empowered attacks deal an unexpected amount of damage in duels.

Just wanted to share this with anyone who thought Rumble's low popularity was due to him not being viable or some sort.

Edit: Something similar can be said about my favorite champion, Gangplank. He goes from being completely aggressive at level 1-2 to passive farming and punishing when possible for the rest of the laning phase and early game. Then, when he reaches late game, he deals a load of damage, his E makes towers cringe when attacked by the whole team, and his ultimate thanks to recent changes, is a great teamfighting and split pushing tool.

And a note: I'm happy Riot gave him the Legendary Skin. To me, it kind of means "We know Rumble's there."

Rumble <- Plus he is fluffy now. Like, hella.

How doesn't he scale with skill?

A skillful ultimate placement makes the difference between "lol, tickles and i'm out" and "I'M BURNING, I'M BURNING".

I used to be one of the worse rumble when it come to ulting, but then I played Viktor and I was like ( Oh, so that's how it work when you auto cast everything. )

I was scared the op was going to call for a rework. After seeing my fav champ cass get destroyed by a rework, I want riot to stay far away from my second fav. Kudos to the op for not going that route, rumble is indeed fine. I hope riot doesn't manufacture a random excuse to have stashu break another champ.

You mean Gangplank is somebody else's favorite champion, too!? Pleased to meet you.

Rumble is actually pretty easy to play after about 3-5 games with him, maybe less. Just learn to manage his Heat and he actually has the highest damage of any top lane champion potentially with a full combo in the Danger Zone. Another reason people don't play him as much is his ultimate screams team synergy and that is hard to do in Normals.

I've always been a huge fan of rumble and he's my go-to top lane champ (I'm a huge sucker for high difficulties and tiny animal-humanoids who like owning their own miniature gundams lol).

What I find interesting about Rumble (when juxtaposed against other "top-lanes" such as Garen or Singed ) is that that Rumble tends to excel as a heavy dmg AP top lane and I usually build little to no health at all [especially after comparing my builds with those used by pros]. His natural health scales well, and there is decent Armor from item 3157 and MR from item 3001 / item 3111 (if you don't take item 3020 ). Crazy?! Perhaps...

But when combine his abilities with Heat, often times a properly timed ult and proper usage of 'overheating' means you're figuratively and literally melting opponents before they can even hope to drawn down upon you. Firing off a well placed Equalizer, sprinting in with W, and spamming Flamespitter and Harpoon means you'll be watching enemies liquify like hot wax. It's an INCREDIBLY wonderful experience...watching your enemies burn... wow that last bit was kind of maniacal... oops Rumble lol

P.S. This post makes me nervous that more people will play him. He's a wonderful secret! :D
