Adding a neutral global bounty ("Free Parking" style) to make games more action-packed and dynamic
A friend of mine was just rambling about ideas he thought would make the game better. Most were crap but one I thought was really interesting was this:
What if there was a constantly accumulating "Global Bounty" that gets awarded to the next person to get a kill. For instance, if nobody has killed anyone else in ~5 minutes it might accumulate to something like 250 gold and the next person to get a kill will be awarded with it (similar to the "Free Parking" square in monopoly).
I'm not sure I've thought through all the consequences of this but it seems like it might be a fun addition. It would reward proactive plays vs. reactive ones and risk-taking over passiveness. It also might make games more action-packed on average since the bounty would be a frequent objective to play for and attempt to secure.
What do you guys think?
