Jhin's Passive and Build

According to Jhin's Passive description, it says he gains attack damage from attack speed and crit chance runes and items so does that mean you have to build him with only attack speed and crit items? I need to know because since I'm into gunners and techies, I'm planning on saving up some IP to play as him as soon as he's released.
