Pet peeves: proper use of jargon and avoiding confusion

Heya guys,

So I don't expect a lot from this thread, but I thought I would try and see what others might have to say. I'm a bit annoyed by a few terms improperly used very regularly on these boards.

  • Role or Class is what your champion do, what's his job: Assassin, Marksfolk, Vanguard, etc. // Position or Lane is what you choose in Champion Select, and decides what income you will collect, where you go on the map. ADC is not a Position, Jungler is not a Role. There are correlations between the two, through the meta-game, but it's still different things. (And while we're at it, Support means you're not collecting gold, NOT that you're the bot laner b*tch.)
  • The text box before your Q spell is your Innate, not your Passive. A Passive is an ability that you don't need to actively control yourself, and it can be on your QWER, like Vayne Silver Bolts. On the other hand, Azir or Kindred "passives" are not Passives at all. Most Innates are Passives, but don't mix the two.
  • It's Basic Attack, not Auto Attack. Auto-attack is the feature that allows your character to automatically use Basic Attacks on enemies in range if you don't give him any specific order, hence the confusion, but it's not the proper term.

Of course, I'm nit-picking, and you'll be understood even if you use the improper term most of the times, but yeah, it annoys me ^^' Post your own Pet Peeves in the comments ;)
