Why isn't blitz used in LCS?

Yeah thresh does kinda the same thing except with more utilities but still, blitz has the ability to just feed his adc so freaking hard. If he gets one pull then your basically dead, especially with a good adc. And yes LCS players can just juke him but honestly once he hits level 6 he is tanky enough to just W then run right into them. I personally don't play him because I think he's too easy! At least thresh's hooks take longer to wind up.

Edit: You would think that LCS players would be good enough to not hook the tank though. I mean I understand there are better supports but at the same time It seems like blitz could have a decent impact on the game if played right. Maybe we will see him played in a different meta.

he isnt played in lcs because late game if u grab a tank they just got a free initiate. they then win the fight. if thresh hooks a tank he can back off and not go in.

Its also high risk where you can just be a Nami or Alistar and easily have an impact. Also Alistar counters Blitz and he is picked every game.

Blitz is a champion that relies on his enemies mispositioning and making mistakes. Pros barely make any mistakes and barely would misposition enough for Blitz to be the best pick. Not saying he wouldn't work but it would more require some fluke plays than good mechanics from the support

the problem with blitz in pro play. is that he will get demolished in laming because he will never land a hook as enemies will just stay behind minons.

he will be actually better late game because. of how aggressively enemy junglers and supports move around the map to ward. you can't dodge a hook coming from fog of war also he will be a huge danger at baron annd dragon pits. pulling people in or out ..at least thats my theory.

Some champs that are amazing in Solo play are awful at the LCS level.

See: Machine Gun Kog.

He was great in Solo where the coordination needed to crush him was harder to muster. In LCS? Not so much.

blitz does not do the same thing as thresh.

Blitz can be countered by getting tanky and letting him pull you or the threat of that happening.

thresh disables you for much longer from further away for the majority of the duration and has a way to close the gap or save people

because Morgana makes him more useless than a permanently blinded Vayne and she is far too easy to play since she has tons of cc and is more or less a safe pick into anything

the difference between thresh and blitz is the lockdown on thresh where as blitz doesnt have along with the team fight pressure a thresh uses as a blitzcrank pulls you if say you grab the mid laner your giving him free access to your backline if you are frontlining which as support you mostly will be close to the front where as you play a sivir/morgana bot lane blitz is super useless
