what about a BUFF for those 4v5 games

It would be possible or viable to have a buff that activates for the 4 teammates of an afk team that would allow them a chance to still win the game.... so frustrating to have afk's during promos. i'v been playing this game since beta and have probably won over 10 ranked games that we were down a man from lvl 1, not so many lately(the last year). My point; it would also have a placebo affect that would encourage players to try to win and not give in to an automatic surrender. it would cut down on players spamming "4v5 GG" and more people going afk.

so. how about a 20% increase of all stats. The buff would ignore caps such as 40% CD and moving it up to 55% cd or what ever riot deemed viable after testing? Don't make the buff so beneficial that people plan teams around having an afk, but raise moral and give them a *skilled *chance

mechanics like that would encourage afks, especially if they're performing badly and getting zoned. "I'll leave and you can have my lane"

I feel like this would just encourage players to afk easier, " fine win without me " type of players, they would be less reluctant to stay in the game knowing that if they leave their team would receive a buff and still have a viable chance at winning.

A 20% increase in all stats is actually a bigger increase than 20%.

The faster you kill someone the less damage you take, and the more damage you can take the more damage you get to deal. Offense and defense scale one-another's power, and things like AS, Crit, and armor penetrations all scale exponentially with AD.

A 20% increase to everything would mostly end up being 1.2^x, where X is the number of stats that count as everything. With 6 stats like AD, AS, Crit, Health, Armor, and CDR - you're looking at an effective 199% increase in overall power. Granted - things like mana don't really scale the power of anything else, but still.

A 20% increase in a single stat is generally a 20% increase in power overall.

Or just a 20% increase in damage dealt/20% damage reduction.


As for actually implementing a buff - ehh. Some champions would handle a stat boost better than others, some would handle a stat debuff much worse than others.

I'd be more down for getting a bot AI to take over, the capacity for the team to control the AFK champion, or just more extreme punishments for leavers.

You also wouldn't necessarily need to buff/debuff champions directly. Tower HP actually differs based on the # of players in a custom game, and could be an interesting place to move any damage/defense buffs/debuffs. Make the 5-man towers ~20% less durable.

How about something that increase the sustain for the teams that have an afk? like improved health regen/mana regen, and armor/ magic resist increase? Ignoring the cap for cooldown reduction would be not really that helpful in my opinion. Though, how about increasing the power of the minions instead of the champions? that makes pushing much harder for the enemy team.
