Found a bogus interaction between bard's Q and spell shields

So today i spell shielded a bards Q as nocturne and i still got stunned. He thought it was because i blocked his empowered auto, and since the game was pretty much over(my team was getting stomped) we tried it in our jungle. I spell shielded the Q and i still got stunned after it connected with the terrain. Is this intended to happen? The stun going through even if the spell is spell shielded? Does it work with other spell shields besides noct's?
