Shen's spirit sword no longer grants vision

I watched some people use him on the PBE and it appeared that Shen's sword would grant vision in the area where Shen left it, almost like a free ward if Shen didn't want to use his Q. It seemed like that was a weird bit of situational utility that would be kind of cool.

Was it merely a bug on the PBE server that was fixed for release, a feature deemed too strong and subsequently nerfed, or an intended strength that something is breaking on the live server?
