I wanna have a serious discussion . . .
Now I wont start out by telling you the point and giving you room to add bias before i get into this ( It is long and there is an extra short TL:DR, but in return for a short TL:DR, you have to read this entire post completely and comprehensively before commenting [out of respect, for how long it is lol, at least please]) There is more to each part of this but I am trying to get straight to the key points.
EDIT: the above in parenthesis includes down voting, and if you could, when u down vote explain why you disagree, Thank you.
Riot devs this is a plead to you, your game is dying and you know it, i don't have to say it. (^not the point)
In classic original league there was a certain understanding and a "meta" where there were certain ques and signs that as you practiced and got better you would notice, people may have sucked but it was possible to solve the problem ( with skill and practice ). Simple pinging and/or typing could have alleviated the problem ( somewhat ), but regardless of how your team reacted it was possible to go off on your own and make effective counter play.
Some of you reading may have caught on to what im getting at . . .
BUT DON'T jump the gun, because I'm not done yet. There are issues with the game now that aren't even related to champion balance huge mechanics in the game hardly exist anymore. (Now before i continue, let me again say . . . don't jump to conclusions yet) One example would be warding, warding is still in the game, yes, but it has been nurfed drastically. Wards now disappear quickly compared to how long they take to cool down and the only permanent ward is a pink ward and it costs money. (Stay with me a little longer, no conclusions yet) This might not be so much of a problem if it werent for the changes to the pace of the game and addition to Summoners RIft. The changes to towers and minions (and a few other things im forgetting) to make the games "end quicker" are things that shouldn't have been done at the same time as the ward changes. I constantly find my self needing more wards for how quickly the game is going and not having access to anything reliable (pink wards can get taken out and are just as restricted in terms of vision (not including the true sight, i mean actual line of sight), not to mention they cost 75 in the shop. 75 might sound cheap but that is a lot when you consider the price of some starting/base items (base meaning the first items to an actual item) and even pots. On top of that my team seems to never have wards when we need it. One problem could be that there is no way to just check baron safely with out wasting an entire ward or possibly running into the enemy team doing dragon. That is the basic of the first problem ( not the point, still only half)
When I started playing league ( about a year before ludens, i hate what that item btw, but that is another topic for another post ) there was no rift harold and there was no magical avatar dragon. Before all that the game had a good set of "phases" that happened, these phases felt like due dates for school final exam projects almost ( to the extent that the concern, or challenge, was weather or not your effort would pay off for the next phase ). There were clear "checkpoints" (if you will) during the game that gave way to some potential outplay in how well you predicted your enemy and used wards. Now, not only the jungler, but the entire team has a hard time because there are so many different things going on as soon as the game starts its not even funny. The jungler must farm on top of predicting the enemy and ganking, but the whole beginning of the game is now packed full of harold and elemental dragons. Old dragon (2 dragons ago, the one that gave you the one simple (non stacking) buff) was one of two options ( the other being baron, obviously ) for an end game secure of an earned lead, the milkshake after a hard days work. Now Dragon and Harold ARE the hard days work . . . the beginning of the game is now over run with things you have to do in every lane
MY POINT IS
You cant
- Reduce our venues for gathering info on the enemy
- Make matches shorter and
- Change the entire dynamic of the game and how it feels
All . . .
At the . . .
Same . . .
Time . . .
I am adding this as an after thought because, to a certain extent, this was already here before dynamic que, but it was restricted to groups of 2 when in ranked. The issue with dynamic que, that everyone is barely touching but still missing, is that it completely ruins the "communication synergy" (if you will) of the team. This is sort of where i started, but i wanted to establish a couple of other things first. The issue here Is that people are not ( /can't? ) focus on thier teams. This is best illustrated through an example: lets say your team has a trio and two solo que'ers. ( I have been in both positions ) The trio throughout the entire game are making calls preemptively based off of the reasoning of the group (or they have one dick head in the party and none of them can focus, but lets ignore that) the two solo que'ers have no access to this reasoning or planning because there is no way they are effectively communicating it through the in game chat, it would take to long. An in game voice chat system would be bad for multiple reasons, two of which being 1. The known toxicity of our community atm and 2. Because that would, IMO, ruin the entire aspect of the game that is the unspoken communication in game, map awareness and everything. Lets say that there is a voice chat, what is to keep people from going "i dont need to look at the map because some one will just tell me what is happening" or "I dont WANT to look at the map because people wont shut up about it", unfortunately the latter happens often in many games. There is more to that last point, but I want to close this out.
TL:DR (Not even considering balance changes concerning items and champions) Riot has made multiple mistakes that have led to the degradation of the core of what league was, period.
