How do I play Ezreal to be a threat?

About a week ago, I bought Ezreal shortly after I decided that ADC was the position that I wanted to main. After playing him a few games and looking up guides and videos, I am still struggling to win the laning phase and become a threat later on. I used to play jungle so I still am working on my last hitting, but with Ezreal in particular I struggle to waveclear, as he has no proper abilities for that and am also struggling to put his W to good use. Is there any beginner tips that you guys can give that you think will help me with my Ezreal game? Also, situational suggestion builds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ezreal is all about hitting his Q. If you can hit your Q at a decent rate you can play a successful Ezreal.

You don't. Ezreal is a poker, a kiter, an opportunist. You farm and chip away at the enemy when they make mistakes and only go in when they have royally screwed something up. You can build triforce instead of IBG to deal more damage but you are still focusing on taking pot shots until the enemy has to give ground or die. If you want to roll out to lane and stomp faces, forcing the enemy off of farm with posturing, then you want something like Jhin, Draven, or Lucian.

I'm not an adc main, but I am a support main. Something I've seen Ezreals do frequently is waveclear with their ult.

Also, since he's a farm champion, I see people buying Cull frequently on him.

Bind Taunt to your Q and watch the enemy tilt off the face of the planet.

Well I lane very safely and passively with him in lane, but follow up AGGRESSIVELY if my JG or support sets up a good play.

You don't have to hit all Qs but YOU MUST AUTO ATTACK with him in team fights. It makes a huge difference to your damage output. Use E aggressively (to attack) but only when its safe to do so.

BEFORE (not during) team fights, just stand back and lob Qs. Try to guess when the fight will start (use W on allies and Q on minions/ennemies to keep passive stacks up). As soon as the fight starts (people commit) and you decide its a good fight and its safe to do so... E or run into the fight and RIGHT CLICK (weaving Qs here and there).

Position aggressively but be prepared to hit E or Flash if focused (it acts as Insurance). You can be in the middle of the team and closer to the front than someone like Ashe BECAUSE you have the insurance of E (to engage and to escape). Move between auto attacks, keep lobbing Qs but KEEP AUTO ATTACKING.

Most of your damage dealt (unless your team is SUPER BEHIND in which case you might only be able to Poke until you lose); should come from AUTO ATTACKS and not from Q or from anything else if you are carrying with Ezreal.

Laning you gotta poke and stack tear so you can do well late game. He's great against hook champions since his displacement breaks out of it.
