With Teemo least if you decide to build him AP a decent about of your damage comes from your shrooms and the damage they output. His shrooms have been subtly nerfed with a few indirect things which makes them almost pointless to set up. The first one came about with inclusion of scuttle crab, that thing wandering the river up and down through the center. That means if the scuttle happens to run into one, or is being attacked by any player gets destroyed making shrooming the river almost useless unless you do it along the sides.

Along with that though is the fact that scanner level one(along with the level 9 version) can disable traps along with see them. I have no problem with the fact that it can see them i think it makes it a good counter play to his shrooms. But when a enemy can just Sweep over it with that level one scanner or even the level 2, which lasts longer and has the bigger range, disables them completely allowing any enemy to just walk right over the trap without taking any damage what so ever that is what I have a problem with.

So if you have set up your little area with teemo in top lane ready to counter the enemy top laner's all in all they must do is scan and those shrooms which take time and quite a bit of mana to set up have become useless they can just walk right up to you and kill you walking over shrooms in all. That free item gets rid of most of his damage off the table all together.

I would say to at least make it so this item doesn't disable traps(or at the very least make it only for the level 9 one instead of just the level 1) so that way melee champions can't just walk up to teemo without fear as long as they have this item. Making teemo even more challenging to get into and play with the current meta of bursty/snowball heavy champions(Gangplank, xin, fiora etc)

Already with plenty of counter play such as setup time for them to go off, scanners able to spot them, and pink wards why does this single champions Ultimate ability get to be countered so hard by a FREE item that anyone can pick up. The only real viable way to use this is to throw them in fights or just randomly put them around semi critical parts of the map though this limits his effectiveness. Making anyone with knowledge of this able to counter teemo very thoroughly for at least one fourth of his damage.

Anyone have any thoughts on this matter or if anyone from riot can answer as to why the disable traps was put in for the level 1 version/ at all?
