Do people read the actual changes in the patch notes?
My question is if people actually take the time to look at the number changes in patch notes or if they just look and see that something was changed then complain without thinking.
I see so many people complaining about how mages have been gutted from the mana changes but they do not seem to understand what was changed. Mage's wave clear have been nerfed in the later stages of the game. The mana pool changes are targeted at their ability to greatly stall out a game with long range, low risk wave clear. During the lane, the mana regeneration buffs and
changes actually strengthen mage's laning power. The overall mana regeneration numbers if you bought
are almost the same. It is slightly lower if you are consistently getting perfect cs and slightly higher if you are not (and let's be real with ourselves we are NOT consistently getting perfect cs). This is because it is no longer tied to last hitting. This itself is a buff because if you are behind and zoned from the wave you are still able to use spells at the same rate as the person zoning you where as before getting zoned from the wave greatly reduced your ability to regenerate mana. The other change to
in the added on hit damage also increase the early lane pressure for a mage. Because spell's are not as necessary from pushing a wave or competing with ad mids' auto attack pushes, more spells can be used for harass and securing hp advantages. All of this being said later on in the game you are going to feel the effects of the smaller mana pool when trying to wave clear or poke before mid-late game team fights which was the stated goal of the patch.
TL;DR If you take the time to look at the numbers provided in patch notes you will see that early lanes are actually better for mages (so stop saying that ad or assassin mids will run over mages any more than they did last patch) and the nerfs actually hit after the lane phase.
