Ayy kl I main Kindred and I'm really confident with playing her as it stands (which took quite the amount of time). I'll drop a few helpful points.
Runes:
Main Tree:
- Fleet Foot, definately underrated but I think shines out of any other Keystone rune in that tree, you get a good heal that keeps you healthy in the jung ready to fight almost anytime & a ms buff that helps kiting at all points of the game and chasing too.
- Triumph, gemerally more useful.
- Alacrity.
- Cut down, most people go Coup de Grace, but I figured since the E is an execute and Kindred lost the %health damage on her AAs, this really helps, she is squishy and I don't build her tanky so you can use it to the fullest extent, paired with your W, late game it makes quite the difference
Secondary Tree:
- Celerity, having the slowest base ms in the game, this compensates for so much, you are faster thus can travel round your jung faster, it helps again with kiting throughout and gives you a bit of AD with the increasd ms. It is small but really helps, it pairs really nicely with fleet foot and your passive when you have a high number of stacks with higher range.
- Waterwalking, the majority of your fights are going to happen in the river early game since this is where your marks spawn initially and you're most likely to find the enemy jungler here. It gives you an advantage with increased AD & increased Ms, you will win fights, travel to lanes faster and be able to get away faster when travelling getting away from the enemy team after getting a mark. It falls off late game sorta but I wouldn't trade it for anything else. If you're not feeling it then second best choice would be The Ultimate Hat imo.
Again if you're not feeling Fleet foot then my second choice would be Predator for better ganking.
Playstyle & Skill order:
I find that playing Kindred is a balance of farming efficiently and pulling off ganks for lanes that would be difficult for your team to play against and good invading, because most of the time if you are able to farm better than the enemy jungler, make sure that they themselves aren't getting fed and helping out THEIR team well you will do well yourself. The main reason for this is invading is almost a part of your kit, since your marks almost force you to encouter the enemy jungler you don't really have a choice, after the changes Kindred's build became more expensive and AD instead of AS orientated. You get insane power spikes from items as it stands, especially from
&
. The warrior enchant is a staple buy and is killer the faster you can get it but infinity edge is an essential buy, since it gives you large AD and crit + crit damage, which also helps your E scale. I do like to get
as my first buy after backing with something like a
&
since you won't have a lot of gold, then finish off the
and build more damage.
Skill order I go: 1 point into W, then Q, then E. After max Q, then E & lastly W. Level 2 ganks on kindred aren't very potent, but they can work if your laner has a slow or other form of cc. The problem is you lack a lot of damage without your E, your W has next to no impactful damage early and you're quite slow, the enemy might have to blow a flash if you have red buff, which is good but without it they can walk away without much worry. Not only this but if you were to get counter ganked you will most likely lose in that situation, which just isn't worth it. Without a strong gank you reveal your position to the enemy team and that makes it easier to predict where you will go next for jungle clears and even if you're going for your next mark, which can be easy bait for them, it can be a huge waste of time unless the enemy laner is so far pushed that it would guarantee a kill and or blown summs if you were to gank. Ganking top and mid is your best bet, as in bot you really need your team to initiate the fight or they could blow you up if they decide to turn on you, keep your distance and focus correctly when ganking bot, use your q to dodge skillshots and hold off on your E if you can, sice it is more effective the lower health the target, fleet foot helps a lot in bot lane ganks as well.
Getting marks:
Easily one of your most important targets; you scale so much with each that you get. Prioritise getting the first 4 as it gives you the most benefits that keep you relevant and effective early game. Save your smite if you can for jungle camps or scuttle early game if you plan on just taking it without having to fight, since they are on the enemy team's side it is easier for the laners to collapse on you rather than get help from teammates. MAP AWARENESS is the biggest thing when it comes to getting your marks, if you see the jungler on the other side of the map get your mark. If you're going for your mark and you see the laners enemy laners dip, they're most likely coming for you! This isn't so much for scuttle and something like gromp, but more for the raptors or wolves, it is easier for you to get caught off gaurd and be trapped when going for wolves/raptors. Going for krugs is a bit of a yolo mission, you either get it or you don't. Definitely save your smite when going for krugs or raptors since you take a lot of damage at raptors and Krugs are way more tanky. Look to see if the enemy mid laner may have warded over to raptors before going for the mark as they tend to quite a bit. Getting in and out is an essential for Kindred as well and by that I mean jumping over walls with your Q. I'll try my best to tell you where:
- Dragon pit (the thinnest side),
- Blue buff camp (2 points, the thinnest side [easy] & the other side where there seems to be a cut / line on the wall, jumping over THIS side leads you into mid lane),
- Gromp (right behind where it would spawn),
- Baron pit (more to the bottem right hand side of the wall between the two patches of grass on the floor),
- Wolves (the wall directly opposite the camp)
- The thiner wall in mid lane, where the bushes leading into the lane are found on either side
- Krugs (The wall behind them, where their backs face)
- Raptors (The wall closest to mid lane & on the North-east raptor camp both walls can be vaulted over).
Knowing this helps with not getting spotted by wards, escaping, using to your advantage when you ult and want to get to safety & travelling faster through the jungle.
A few other tips regarding Kindred's kit:
Try not to build attack speed items unless you want to, as the stacks you get suppliment the attack speed side of things when you use your Q.
Save your E if you can to finish off a target and prevent them from running away, use more appropriately if you need to kite and or if the kill is guaranteed on something like a tank so your team can deal more damage.
When using your ult try to deal as much damage as you can without using your E by using your Q & W for damage but saving the last proc of your E for execute damage and your last of your Q to widen the gap right as you come out your ult.
You can use your ult to steal objectives like dragon / baron as it keeps them alive while baiting the enemy team's smite.
You can use your ult to K.O towers if you know you're going to die but want to take it with you >:D they don't get the benefits of not dying from your ult, the same goes for inhibs and the Nexus. (Great for backdoors).
Don't be afraid to use your ult for teammates and turn the tables.
Last but not least you can use your W to chunk away at high health targets at range before a team fight. Better with more stacks but useful at the least.
What my build looks like (in order)

. This is just an example tbh you can mess around with it a lot and it'll work. I will say this if you're really fed, a lethality build with I.E is Opizzle
Hope I helped :D haven't proof read cba, I'm tired enjoy :) Oh yh just ban lee sin, like always, everyone else is manageable...
