Azir Q Range?

I played azir when he was free and i could send his sand soldiers pretty far with his q. Now it seems to be limited to his auto range. This puts him in dangerous situations continuously. Bug or intentional? Cuz if its intentional i feel really stupid for spending the 6300 ip on him

Same. Discovered this last night. Couldn't believe no one's talking about it. Massive change/nerf/bug. Totally changes how you play Azir. Reread patch notes, saw nothing of this. Please be a bug.

Really changes dynamic from pursuit at range to putting squishy Azir right in the middle for effective Q. Changes it to more of a trap dynamic, which isn't nearly as fun. Or effective.

I'm feeling pretty frustrated that this "isn't that big of a deal" Had any other champion experienced a serious decrease in their range, it'd be fixed in a day. Azir item 3070

it was a bug before the fix azir could send his soldiers much further than his q range now his range is correct still if you add the other bug fixes to the mix azir comes on top compared to his old self (q didnt always slow, soldiers didnt always deal dmg, ult sometimes didnt block any jump and sometimes didnt even deal dmg, his e was not always going to a soldier)

Strange, PerfidiousAlbion, for me, the selection arrow range no longer goes 800. If I place a soldier near me, that selection arrow only stretches as far as MY range. I'm on a Mac client, fyi.

inb4 riot comes out and say it's unintentional "nerf".Even though they know what they are doing.

Bump for a Riot comment. Still haven't heard anything on this yet and it dramatically changes the champion.

I've said it before: Azir needs a +25 range increase on everything he does. Right now you pretty much have to play like a burst mage half the time because the soldiers can't hit anything and to be honest his burst is actually pretty nice. It feels wrong to play like that though.

you can bring the soldiers as far as you want you just cant throw them to ranges out ur sight.. which makes sense.

I noticed this the other day when I finally took the chance to try him again after his bug fixes.

I think that originally, the distance each soldier could dash was based on a range from the soldier itself, not a ring around Azir. That made more sense to me, even though it sometimes meant that you couldn't get all of your soldiers to the same spot if they were too spread out. It just meant each one dashed as close to there as it could get.

With the soldiers limited to a bubble around Azir, I'm having to expose him to a LOT more danger, which is a huge problem when combined with his unique targeting mechanics. If his Q has to be based on a bubble around him, then it needs to be much larger. Honestly, though, I feel like it would just be much healthier to base the range of each soldier off of their own location, not Azir's.

EDIT: To be clear, I don't want Azir to be totally safe, since that would break him. However, I feel like he's exposed to too much danger in his current state. He practically has to be on top of enemy champs to get a full combo off, and this is at odds with his "hide behind his minions" advertising.

It does seem quite a bit shorter. Glad to see it's not just me thinking this.

It appears that the cast selection range is the same (800), but that the soldiers dash can no longer extend beyond this point when previously, like Viktor's lazor, they used to move a couple hundred units beyond the point you clicked.
