Boosting and Smurfs

So at the beginning of this season i started playing ranked, i think of myself as an ok league player and a pretty good jungler. I got to silver 3(my goal is gold), but i lost to a smurf adc that got 2 pentas. Played a few more games and lost becuase of other reasons but i started climbing again. Then the next 3 games there was either a smurf or a booster in my game and over the past week probably saw at least 5 and when you have those types of games you just go on full tilt and now im all the way back in bronze freaking 1. And im not making this up becuase they literally admitted they were smurfs and stuff in game. Is it just me or are there alot more boosters and smurfs these days becuase im about to through my computer out a window.
