Champs that split push all day like Trynd, Nasus, and Singed (especially him) can abuse the hell out of its active and take turrets much faster. And yet I maybe see it bought once by someone other than myself in my last 20 games? Why?
The item looks like it's more geared towards the support role, but it's quite expensive for a support. Most top laners or junglers that would use the tank stats typically have better items to purchase for that gold.
Because its a lategame item and games are now ending way before that

I remember when a Thresh had it. It was a pain to deal with little voidling everywhere cause her would place it just behind his group.
Singed and nasus yes. Not trynd. He's better off building more offensive stats to murder people and take towers.
I like grabbing it even when I'm not split-pushing. It can be quite useful to push minion waves while you are elsewhere or to delay enemy super-minions while you wait for your inhib to respawn. The movement speed is quite useful too and it provides good stats.
It's a fantastic purchase on Shen too, especially now that you don't want Spirit Visage (since he lost his innate regen).
Honestly i don't think anyone even knows about it. Seriously i asked someone to build it and they asked "wtf is that?"

Like 3 games ago I saw 5 built in the same match (Ekko, Rammus, Sejuani (me), Nautilus and Darius). It's incredibly common right now... I'm seeing it built in at least every other game.
ive seen hikashikun and ivan builkd it on teemo a few times? What situations would i do that?
Actually due to Udyr jungle being popular and them normally running portal it is becoming far more popular. I like it on top lane a lot as a first or second buy. If the laning phase is dragging the portal can end up taking the tower by itself, the fact that it is somewhat acting like a gold income item as the voidlings kill minions is super handy as a drop it before you recall or TP as well. Very very strong item right now.
