Sion Comet Cheese

Why is sion allowed to have a 725 range skillshot on an 8 second cd with an armor shred and a 60% slow and only 50 mana cost? 725 range on a spammable comet poke.. Is Sion a melee champion or not?

Does nobody think that maybe this is just way too abusable and then we give him comet spam? Comet spam that does damn near a quarter of your health without him building any damage items?

Like sion's aren't even playing their mechanics or stacking anymore, they just spam their E and harass their way through lane with nothing but cheese. Literal cheese, it's just spamming comet.

Is this what this game has become? That we don't even play the mechanics like intended anymore? We just mash an op spam button so we can auto win without any skill? How can you people respect yourself doing this?

I just want them to fix his e hitbox; it's way too clunky and unreliable.

Comet needs changed more than anything. DPS mages STILL don't have a viable rune, and lowering comet's damage but increasing the effect spells have on lower its cooldown would be a step in the right direction.

When champions like Cassiopeia with a spammable ** 0.75s single target spell** aren't making use of the cooldown refund to make comet a viable pick, it might be time to take a look at what the rune offers and who it's meant to be fore. Because right now it's a whole lot of tanks and bruisers cheesing with it. A part of that is probably from Resolve's set bonuses being substantially weaker than those of the other trees, but the flat damage on it would be appealing even if Resolve granted 150 instead of 130 health to even it up with the others.

Changes: Arcane Comet: 30-100 adaptive damage (+20% AP and 35% b.AD) -> 20 - 50 adaptive damage (+30% AP and 40% b.AD) Cooldown: 20-8s -> 18-9s Cooldown reduction: Single target spells: 20% -> 30%; AoE: 10% -> 20%; DoT: 5% -> 15%

And to Aery as well: On enemy: 15-40 adaptive damage (+10% AP and 15% b.AD) -> 10-30 adaptive damage (+15% AP and 20% b.AD) On Ally: 30-80 health shield (+25% AP and 40% b.AD) -> 40-80 health shield (+30% AP and 40% b.AD) Shield duration: 2s -> 3s Aery linger time (before starting to return): 2s -> 3s Shield now procs instantly rather than having a delay from aery traveling (Linger time still only begins from the time she arrives at the target)

People have been spamming E since he was reworked. That's nothing new. Tbh.... it's a healthy change from the meta being Bush > item 3147 > Q and almost 1 hitting you with Q.

Sion's skills are completely avoidable. The problem isn't his skills. It's the fact that in early lane phase 1v1, he is hard to rebuke, because you're trying not to push lane, which gives him minions as ammunition. Out of lane, he's generally chowder. And in lane..... just position yourself where there's no minions between you and him, and use champs that use aoe skills rather than single target ones (single target gains minion aggro).

Also.... realize that if he is leveling E, he's WEAK. He will have no strong barrier, no strong W, so engaging him after he misses a leveled E = he's going to be punishable until the cooldown's up.

Yeah with the addition to comet this start became a lot worst that before and I hated it then. For a melee Sion actually has a lot of range and can hurt you from quite a distance. That being said I think most of the kit is okay. In that his abilities are very slow and telegraphed his E is the only real exception and I would like to see some changes like taking away the minion interaction for something else cause it really is no fun to play against.

A lot of people have been saying that he needs nerfs and while he is performing really well with comet at the current moment I disagree that we should hit him with direct nerfs.

Sion currently does well with the comet build assuming he is against a non-tank top laner (either bruiser or ranged) that he can E-comet poke down while building full tank so that they cannot fight back. Fact is bruisers next game are getting a a keystone specific to countering champs like Sion (true damage on a low starting health champion). Secondly, Riot is looking at nerfing shields overall (hello Sion's W).

Rather than hit him with direct nerfs right now, it would be best to see how he performs after those things happen.
