Question about Hextech Crafting drops

If I get a chest on a champ, have I locked away any possibility of ever getting a chest on said champ ever again? Do they run on timers that reset and then you're able to get a chest on that champ again?

Or does this mean that you can only ever get a certain number of Hextech chests (the amount of champs you have)?
