Compensation for players leaving the game or going AfK

Whether it is due to server disconnects or real life issues we all know that having teammates leave the game is very unfair. As players we can only do so much to prevent it however I would like to suggest something to Riot Games. If a summoner goes AFK for an extended period of time or disconnects, the team that the summoner was on would be compensated with additional xp and gold.
