I know you probably heard enough of this but.

I'm sure you all heard rants like these before. If you have feel free to call me a bronze noob or something and praise the current LP system for what it's for.

I've been playing a lot of ranked lately. I've been steadily carrying myself from Silver III to Silver I. However, I will get into a four or five win streak and I will have that one game. You know that one game where someone instantly has to leave two minutes into the game. Or the game where someone picks Ziggs support, go 0/7 giving Vayne all the kills before 10 minutes giving her the fastest BotRK she has ever seen in her life and all around Freelo while cussing out the rest of the team because the first pick picked mid.

I will also have games where I'm 8/1/8, with 80%+ Kill participation and we still lose because I had one or two people that didn't know how to work as a team and jump as Devourer Jax into a 1v5 across the map and die. I admit I'm not Diamond or Plat or even high Gold. However, when things like this happens I do feel as if there is a major gap in skill between me and other players who are supposedly my rank. One in maybe nine games I will have a game where everyone on both teams is of equal skill, one in maybe five games one team is clearly dominant over the other. All of this is a massive improvement from Silver V and lower where one person would be outclassing everyone in the game.

I feel there needs to be some checks and balances to this to ensure people are of the rank they should be. For example, if someones leaves and stays disconnected/afk. There should be a way to do one of the following.

  1. Reduce the amount of LP loss to the remaining people or eliminate it completely. Giving the person who left (For whatever reason. Rage Quit, Dad says I have to get off, Internet going out) Bonus LP loss. With the reverse happening. The team of four getting bonus LP while the person who left still losing all the said LP. If the team somehow wins. Showing the four had more skill to beat five people of the same mmr.
  2. A way to pause the game to see if the disconnected/AFK person will return. If they don't within two minutes, a vote is called. Where the team with five can do a mercy vote. A way to win the game still and gain the LP, while letting the team of four go with a loss prevention, with the people who left losing extra LP for whatever reason.

For the cases where one/two player/s are a significant skill level below the rest of the team. Such as someone instalocking Vayne and going 0/6 within the first ten minutes of the game while you as a mid-lane Azir is 5/0.

  1. Change the LP totals to recognize the skill the player had in the game. We have the new Mastery system. Use that to allocate LP gained/lost.
  2. Maybe grant bonus LP gained or Reduced LP lost for special achievements.
  • Not dying in the first twenty minutes. -Having a 60% Kill participation or higher
  • Having a 4.0 KDA or higher. -etc...

I feel if things like this happened, then players that are at a Gold/Plat/Diamond level will have an easier time to reach their rank with fewer instances.

An actual matchmaking system? Would love something like this.

I was on a win streak from Silver 4 -> Silver 3, which was slowed down by morons that duo bot and can't handle not feeding or the nasus top against mundo who also can't do fuck-all besides run from mundo because he refuses to make MR to get muh CDR items.

*This happened after I got to S3. You know, when you win 6 times in a row and get out of a division and then Riot throws some idiots your way?

Coincidentally, both Jinx nor Nasus didn't have boots until >15 minutes in. I ended up 1-5, sure, but I was the jungle. Those were all late-game deaths besides one where I mistook a Lux for having her E on cd. Mid was ok. They also had a Kayle dev on the other team, which was cancer, even though she didn't make a bork.

It gets worse at higher elo. Even my elo, high gold/low plat, it gets worse. If someone leaves, the other team WILL take advantage of it and it'll be an easy win. Theres almost no potential to carry that 4v5 because its not like you're in bronze, where a 4v5 can be fairly easily won. The game i spoke of on my post. I was 1/0/2 as Azir and we had a super fed Draven and Renekton was shutting down GP top and our Jungler was actually getting pretty fed himself. Looked like an easy win. Someone left. We lost 10 mins later.
