Not backing up the Jungler when he comes to help...

I have been in at least three games where some has pinged for the jungler to help, and when he arrived, they just stood there watched the jg engage and get killed. They didn't back him up. They just stood there. Has this happened to anyone else?

I find this frustrating, especially when the person asking for help starts accusing the jg of feeding because of the aforementioned incident.

Is there any way to inform the person asking for help that they need to back the jg up? Just wondering.

So as a support player I spend all the time in the world watching the map. When I do lane I have to focus on csing so much half the time I never see my jgler coming until it is too late for me to follow up.

Having said that I don't think that I have failed to follow up if I ask for help.

As a jgler the best way to make sure they help is to spam omw ping 3-5 times when you are about 3 seconds away from lane. The help ping is useful in fights as well.

I saw a Jungler do something one game that was amazing for helping me be ready for their gank.

While they were aways off, they'd ping "On my way," but instead of just pinging it somewhere on the mini map, they'd take the time to ping almost right on my champion. No matter what I was doing, I would see that ping was for me. When they got into position they'd then ping "Target" on the enemy champion, them wait a second or two for me to either engage or ping it back (I usually pinged back). It left both of us feeling coordinated and together on the gank, despite never playing with that person before or since.

I know I sometimes struggle with map awarenesses and knowing when a gank is coming, even when my Jungler is on voice chat with me. I guarantee that if you ping like that Jungler did that you'll have drastically reduced failed follow-ups.

On my way ping

But sometimes you just need to show face to get the enemy to back off and let the laner farm.

I agree, and at lower elo people dont even apologize, they are just like "suhhhhh dude, I wasnt paying attention". There was a twisted fate on my team vs Yasuo. I was nocturne. I ganked the guy 4 times he pinged about 10 times in 20 minutes. I killed yasuo each time.

So If you are jungling,

  1. Dont gank a losing lane more than once

  2. Gank winning lanes to pick up gold, cs, and push

  3. Take farm when you can if your laner is dead and minions are against ur turret.

  4. Ping that youre comming in, ping again ping again, wait at the side till your laner seems like he wants to engage. If hes just farming dont go in

  5. Remember you may have a gap closer that your laner doesn't. You have to be careful with this. Many times two people in a fight get upset at the other for not helping when the truth is they have to walk over to the location while the other can just gap close.

He pings, but they just stand there when he gets there. I understand all about the ping. Sometimes he comes to help me, and I am out of mana and all can do is AA, but I try to back him up.

As a support, I try to shield and speed them up if I can.
