@Riot -- Presence of Mind changes are a key example of mishandling of runes (Opinion)

Presence of Mind prior to its changes was a very niche rune pick and one that honestly didn't interest most people or most champions. There were a select few such as and however that benefited greatly from picking it up. There are probably other champions who saw benefit to picking it up but those are the two I know of off the top of my head.

Evidently, this niche usage was seen as a problem. Therefore PoM was changed to be " ... more generic power that is consistent across all champions." This change, and in particular this phrasing, is a HUGE concern to me and it should be to you too, Riot.

It was my belief that the new rune system was designed to increase variety and give players more choices. These runes were an opportunity to let players express themselves and their play styles in different and innovative ways. However this change is in direct contradiction with that idea. Essentially the call has been made to add another generic, one-size-fits-all rune at the expense of a unique and niche pickup that really made certain champions and play styles excel.

Obviously this is all personal opinion but this made me pretty sad to see in the patch notes.
