The real reason behind "No sandbox for you" *Slap*

Did anyone here think what happens when the player-base gets access to sandbox? and the reason why Riot says no?

We get to test stuff out. That means we find new builds, BUGS, combo's, and.....

we can clearly demonstrate HOW BROKEN a champ is.

EX: Go kalista, create a 10 minute video of you explaining AND DEMONSTRATING the BS in sandbox with a few friends. Community can't ignore. Riot can't ignore. Riot's nose shoved into facts , figures, and actual 100% irrefutable proof that can be cross-checked EASILY and IN MASS.

No sandbox no proof. No proof no case. No case.....

Riot: In order to encourage champion diversity and new builds, we force you to play with a toxic player base that discourages new builds, in the name of diversity.

Community: We want sandbox!

Riot: We fear that having the ability to practice might make people practice and find builds that show how broken the game is. So no sandbox for you.

Do you HONESTLY think they meant anything else?

Clearly they "have your best interests" at heart. I mean, who wants a grind? Oh wait...

  • Grind for icons.
  • Grind for IP. Runes.....
  • Grind for LP. Many noobs and trolls = grind.

They don't want you to feel obligated to grind if you want to improve........

So, since when is "wanting to be better in a game" NOT an obligatory grind?

Heck, WHY BOTHER WITH NORMALS? Lets all go ranked 24/7!

I mean, normals are for testing but ....are somehow not labeled as bad "obligatory grinds" ?

Here is why I personally disagree with this. Keep in mind, I'm not opposed to a Sandbox mode, but I recognize that Riot just doesn't want to do one right now.

The example I've seen a lot is practicing Flash, no matter where you go to practice that you are going to have to wait to use it again and if there was no cooldown on it in a Sandbox mode, then you could just practice flashing and not worry about dicking around for half an hour. So, from the player perspective, they want to be able to practice more easily, but Riot doesn't want "Practice" to become an intro to the game.

So for a new player, they already implemented forcing new players to play some bot matches first, this gives them a chance of not being stomped on for their first games, probably helping them like the game a bit more than just dying and walking back to lane repeatedly. But, if there was a Sandbox mode, where all existing players were able to go to practice things they felt they were weak in, new players would be pressured into going to the Sandbox mode to practice until they were good enough to play with everyone else. That wouldn't be any fun.

It's like if you wanted to play some basketball with your friends, but you had never played before and rather than accepting that you are new to it and need to learn how to play they told you to go practice alone until you were good enough to play with them. A little bit of practice can help improve your play, make you feel better and somewhat accomplished, but being pressured only practice would give no feeling of accomplishment when you got better at CS'ing, or flashing, or smiting. It doesn't mean anything to you.

Now, I know, you are probably going to respond with "They wouldn't be pressured into practicing" But they would, not by the existence of the mode, but by the community which already know show to play the game thinking that it makes sense to send new players there in order to learn how to play. Which is bad.

If you restricted Sandbox to level 30 players, that would solve most of the problem, but there would be some complaints of people below level 30 wanting to be able to use the Sandbox- don't think that just because people may want to use it to practice or assist in learning the game that they would be fine with only playing Sandbox, or able to stand up to people trying to bully them out of Normals because they are bad. This may be the best compromise between the two sides, but even then someone would still complain.

As far as you ranting about the game being broken and forcing a meta, get 4 friends, play a normals and go whatever the fuck you want. None of you are going to complain, the enemy doesn't care if it sucks, and you can find whatever other team comps and strategies you like.

Yeah dude, watch my 10 minute video of how broken Kalista is in sandbox mode! Watch me pentakill five targets that don't attack back with full build in less than three seconds because she's so OP!

Are you dumb, or are you stupid?

The real reason is probably that riot would need to invest time, money, and resources into making assets for a gamemode that will not create as much hype as, say, an ultimate skin or new champion.

Allocation of time and resources to make a sandbox mode means using up resources that would otherwise be used to release new content, update old content, fixing bugs, etc.

Granted, I do want a sandbox mode.

you can show everything "broken bullshit" in a cosutm/normal/ranked game already so i don't get it really? what can you show that impossible to show in a norma/costum game?
