Please make URF a permanent game mode!

Naysayers:

"The problem with it is that you see very few champions in it. I mean, obviously there's a meta in Normal/ranked, but people can sort of shuffle their way around based on mechanics and game knowledge. In URF, it's just whoever has the more stupid OP chamion with reduced CDs/no mana costs. Yes, I'm pointing all this out in a competitive sense, and yes I realize that you're wanting it for the ability to just go in as whoever you choose and have ball seeing what stupid stuff you can do, but people naturally like to win, and will begin slowly using the stupid OP champs to ruin someone elses day and it'll just eventually become unenjoyable in the long term. I'm not saying it's unenjoyable at all, but eventually, unless you play those OP champs, you're not gonna win, and people will be fine with that for awhile, but they'll get sick of losing and seeing the same champs and just drop the gamemode."

Me:

I don't buy that. That's fearmongering backed up by no specifics, such as the tier lists or play statistics. There are many many champs capable of doing just fine in URF.

No specifics? Look at what happened to Dominion. That is what would happen to URF.

It would be popular for a short while, it's population would dwindle, and it would end up with only a small but loyal player base. Yes Riot could actually update it, unlike what they did to Dominion, but that wouldn't solve the problem of enjoyment. If you don't like the Dominion example look at Twisted Treeline.

The reason URF and the other game modes are so popular is because the base game modes get boring after a while. What do you really expect to happen to URF when it becomes a base game mode?

Did you not see last URF weekend. It became a slew of Fioras, Garens, Rengars, and a handful of others. Once a month is fine. It can't stay for to long. Or else it gets boring.

1-4-all: Mirror Mode? If the game modes are once a month (like each of them), I would be gladly to play them. But every weekend I wouldn't bother.

Soo.. in this thread we have

  1. URF would be so popular nothing else would get played. and
  2. URF would become so unpopular nobody would play it.

Can both sides of the aisle please acknowledge that you're wrong and stop preaching fear?

And that's fine, I'm not arguing against Dominion I'm arguing for URF.

With the amount of money RIOT's seemingly making.. I say why not both.
