Hello! It has been some time since i felt the desire to type coherent and complete sentences, so bear with me if you see any mistakes. Thank you :3.

First off, This is a slight necro from a thread i replied to like months ago, but i feel the need to bring it up (at least for discussion) for those who may have missed it, so thank you for spending your time reading my nonsensical rambling :P.

Hence, the concept of !donations in LoL! starts here. Let us establish why first then some ground rules.

Why? "Gold in LoL is pretty easy to come by and there are a few (not terribly insufficient) ways to accumulate gold for your whole team. " i hear you say. The idea is that the later in the game you are less than often you are farming and the more you are in group/team fights, and unless you get every kill you are missing out on some gold. Not necessarily impossible to make up for it, but the the better question is why do we at least not have the option to donate any extra gold you may have to a teammate. it could lead to some really insane base plays (maybe). There probably are more reasons as to why this might be a good implication, i just can't scratch at this moment, but that's why I'd like to discuss it.

Ground Rules: For the people that need it.

  1. late game option - the exact timing is something hard to pin-point but it should be some time when a build nears completion. why? Obviously, so you can't just donate gold to the steam-roll-the-game-adc-fund from the start.
  2. some kind of usage restriction (like u can donate 5 times a game) - for the cheaters that may want to sell all their items, to fund someone, and win off that. some combination of usage and a max amount of donated gold might work, but discuss pls :3. Going to provide some more ideas for this one at the bottom of this post.

In conclusion, The ability to donate to other players should be something you can do near the end of the game and it should be designed in a way that makes it so players can't just instantly gain power by giving gold to a carry, but still provide a way to trickle off some of the extra amount of coin your not spending nor ever going to spend so someone else can use it.

and now that i typed that last paragraph i just had another idea to implement donations. What if (near the end of the game) a certain amount (like 1% for every ally) of your gold gained by minions or champions was pooled into a donation amount u could use to buy items? and than my next paragraph gave me another idea for this one (op >.<). same idea for gold gained by minions or champions but it just forwards the gold to (maybe) some kind of "next item to buy" list for that champion (again maybe only like 1% of that gold).

as for my other consideration for rule 2, you could lock the amount of gold to an item and it would send that item to the player (and you could only do that like every 10 min the game lasted longer or something).

Again i thank you for spending time to read any of this, and i hope you have a wonderful day :3 Ahri ~Trimead

Really I don't think this would work. I love the idea - hell, I once wanted to post this on the boards - but it wouldn't work for one key reason. Getting fed in league is a way of winning games, i.e. if your top laner goes 10/0/3 he will win lane because. Lets say ur loosing lane massively but your Illaoi is massively fed and is going to win you the game. The the enemy laners can afford to donate gold to their top laner because they are doing well but he is not.

The only reason going 10/0/3 is good is because you get gold for kills. Its not really fair if you're winning your lane but then the enemy fed person donates a couple thousand gold to your enemy laner. TL,DR; If this occurred in real games then winning lane would mean nothing, as no matter how skilled you were, providing one person on your team gets a few kills and they were feeling charitable then it would put you ahead.

Also what if everyone donated their 500 starting gold to their ADC for a lvl 1 runaan's?

I do like the idea of gold donation with strict limitations, but too heavy limitations would render the system worthless and too loose limitations would make it OP so you would have to get the balance just right bit if you could I like the idea
