This season I've hit gold for the first time and peaked at Gold II 75 LP. However, in this division, I keep getting demoted and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. I can play most roles to an ok level but I find that I'm the most useful as the support. Recently I'm on a massive losing streak even when I do well. Can someone point out what I'm doing wrong? I would appreciate the help! Taric [sg-zephyr]

It's hard to believe that you're only gold and on a losing streak with KDAs like those. What logically jumps out to me is that you might be trying to preserve your KDA by giving up objectives that lead to you losing.

Normally, I'd recommend against playing support champs to climb. Support champs are team-reliant no matter what. You never know how good the other four people on your team will be, but you always know 100% how good you are. But your Taric is very impressive so he should get the exception.

Even if you're on a losing streak with Taric right now, I suggest you stick with it. 71% winrate over 42 games is pretty great. I one-tricked Mordekaiser for a couple months and went from unranked > silver 3 > plat4 pretty quickly. At one point I had a 79% winrate with Mordekaiser, but I stalled out and got stuck in G1 for a while because I lost a few games in a row with him and lost confidence. I switched to a few new champs but eventually I trusted that STATISTICALLY a 61% winrate on a champ is just bound to end up winning more than losing. Soon enough I got plat after going back to Mordekaiser.

So TLDR, have faith in Veigar Taric and Ahri. They have enough games on them that you know their winrates aren't flukes. As long as you aren't tilted, they should get you more LP than they lose.

You also might want to stop playing with %%%%%%%%chew.

  1. Do support/mid, stay away from adc. Otherwise do support/adc and stay away from mid. I think the former is better for you.

  2. Stick with taric/vel koz if your doing support/mid, If your doing support/adc, than stick with your best adc champ.

  3. Losing consecutive games will make you lose confidence in your self and the champion you are playing. Keep playing those champs because they are your most experience champions under your belt which will give the most benefit towards winning the game.

  4. Stop playing rank if you lose 3 consecutive games. If you feel heated after losing two games in a row, take a break. Go walk around the house, or the block or just take a step outside and take a breather. Take as long as you need untill you feel completely fresh to play rank again.

  5. Forget about LP, dont even look at it after winning or losing. Believe it or not, it has a mental effect on you when you look at the lp gains and loses. Its a double edge sword. If your doing good and seeing that 20 to 25 LP gain makes you feel real good. But it also has the negative effect when going on a losing streak. This ultimately effects your performance overall because of the mood that puts you in.

  6. When your in doubt about a role or champion you play, take a step back and go over the basics. This means looking up to see if you have the right rune set up, build order, skill order, skill combos and looking up guides.

I always do this when i lose confidence in my self and i also go back to look at the basics to remind myself so that i dont become complacent or fall into a bad habbits.

  1. Play to improve than winning. identify your weakness and work on it. As you improve as a player and making better judgments/decisions, winning is inevitable.
