Jax Build

Hi Guys! I need some advice regarding Jax, items and such.

In the description for Trinity Force it says: "UNIQUE Passive: Spellblade: After using an ability, your next basic attack deals bonus physical damage equal to 200% of your base Attack Damage. 1.5 second cooldown. Does not stack with Sheen or Lich Bane."

does this mean that since Jax base attack at level 18 is 119.3, after using an ability this item gives him an extra bonus physical damage to the amount of 238,6 which means a total of 357,9 damage (119,3 base attack damage + 238,6 bonus physical damage from Trinity)?

I also have a question about the Leap Strike ability. Does anybody know about any good item you can buy that gives you AP but also works well with Jax?

Gunblade gives good AD/AP and is still good on Jax. The active has a slow which is also good. If you're feeling more brave you can try Nashor's Tooth and Rageblade, but Rageblade is probably sub-optimal in the short run due to its high cost.

Check out mobafire and probuilds, also watch some VODs of Jax players like Hashishin.

You dont need to get AP items on him. you get a lot of AP damage from his R passive so if you stack attack speed you can proc the magic 3rd hit very fast and more than if you tried to get some AP

item 3078, item 1419, item 3153 or item 3146 is more than enough to become a monster

Pretty much one of two builds

item 3078 item 3146 Is in any build on Jax atm.

item 3748 item 3053 item 3065 item 3047 'bruiser'

item 3124 item 3077 item 3156 item 1001 'slayer'

item 3153 is often a waste, just FYI. Its only worth if there's a lot of HP stacking and very little armor stacking.

You grab a Tiamat item eventually in either build because if there's a tanky champion on the enemy team, you're almost forced to split-push for the most part. Tiamat items add a ton of split-push pressure to Jax, and help him in fights pretty well too.

Those builds are the core of the two paths, but you can take out an item and replace it with another if it fits the situation better. item 3143 item 3153 item 3742 item 3022 item 3026item 1419 etc

Level 6 jax, If Im JG I usually Go Bloodrazor enchant > item 3078 item 3153 -(for sustain, plus jax benefits big time from AS, hence this> the "recommended" gunblade). Into bruiser build, item 3156 if the enemy team has fed mages, item 3143 item 3742 item 3026 /item 3102 depending on youre preference. (If your team doesn't cover your resurrection GA can be a complete waste).

Toplane builds about the same (with variation depending on who you're laning against), for example if your against an ap toplaner Wits end can be a good first item for the defensive MR, offensive attack speed and magic damage on every hit, and with its low price it can be an early powerspike, I've definitely sent a few teemos back to the fountain repeatedly by rushing item 3091

Boots are purely situational, up against a cc heavy team? item 3111 will be you're best friend w/ the added tenacity. Up against a lot of auto-attackers? item 3047, enemy team has slows and poke for days? item 3009 .

This is whats great about jax in my view, he is a very versatile champ and depending on your team he has the potential to fill in the gaps very well. Example, one game as JG jax we didn't have a tank, so after bloodrazor I build item 3047 into full tank item 3025 item 3143 item 3742 item 3026 (IIRC) , and along w/ the defense from E and R in his Kit I was able to soak up a comparable amount of damage to many tanks while still dealing fairly meaningful damage (though obviously without peel being as good).

Read the situation and build accordingly, with experience you will get better at this. Good luck man!
