Why is shyvanas passive so terrible?

I haven't played Shyv ( ) in a long time. I took at look at the passive... thats it?

I mean what am I supposed to do if my bot lane gets its arse kicked? So the ability of my passive actually being useful requires my bot lane/team being good?

and even if I do get... a couple dragons? thats pretty normal for an even game.... its just 15.. :/.. thats not even that big its + 1/2 . maybe 500g worth maybe.

Can we get the old passive back please?, collecting dragons is just gimmicky and not at all generally useful.

This current passive is actually really strong when she is able to grab dragons at will, just not otherwise. It´s probably meant as a means to force her to be unable to powerfarm and instead make her be drawn towards the dragons for the sake of interaction.

They won't do it because the old passive was just a stat stick, while the new passive is at least an interactive stat stick. Shyvana's active abilities are also quite strong, so a weak passive compensates somewhat.

i'd like her passive to like.. steal power from drakes? would fit her i think? i mean you could get armor/mr (5 per drake i guess) for mountain, some hp/mana regen (a beads worth is good enough tbh) for ocean, ms for cloud, and maybe more damage on her E for killing fire drake, would be pretty cool and if you were playing something like ap shyvanna you'd get the increased E damage for the fun

It's not that bad, and it was indeed a nerf because Shyvana was a bit strong.

Going back to the old passive would be a buff Shyvana doesn't need.

They were giving Shyvana more power in her kit for example by making her ult stronger because it is unstoppable now. That the passive is weaker is the result of that, they had to remove some power from her kit to even out her power budget.

I mean, if you clear dragon pit, shyvana can solo drag at like... level 3 or 4 i think?

The passive is great. You don't need bot lane for dragons. I take them solo anytime the enemy jungler is visible elsewhere. I am a 735 game Shyvana main with a 62% win rate.

Shyvana is doing fine. Let's not needlessly buff her.

shyv is not in terrible position,first of all she is a jungler without any cc. Being jungler without any cc requires her to powerfarm and counterjungle a lot. After xp catch up buffs,camp timer respawn increase and her W damage to monster nerf she alongside with other powerfarm junglers like Yi is in terrible state apart from Yi being in actually better spot since he has better hyper carry kit when fed. So her terrible passive is just icing on the cake when it comes how sad spot is our dragon lady taking right now :(

When you can solo dragon at level 4 with two daggers and a smite item, dragons are easy to obtain. Get ult and you're even faster at taking dragon. Make sure your lanes don't let their laners motivate towards dragon, and you're fine. One of the best duelists with any mastery + Titanic Hydra/Bloodrazor. You're able to shred dragons regardless of control over them, and you are rewarded for doing what you're supposed to; her shtick is dragon, take out the inferior dragon, reward for that, etc.

I agree they could give her a cooler passive but to be honest she is still super strong w/ the current jank one.

Rito actually addressed some concerns when they previewed the change saying "don't worry, she'll be strong enough without stacking every dragon." Which is true. Of course, that in turn means that she's more than "strong enough" when she manages to start stacking drags and goes straight into OP "I beat you with raw numbers, no outplaying allowed" territory. They didn't make her feast or famine. They made her feast or banquet.

what if...taking dragons gave her an a level up point like the dragon born stealing souls to unlock shouts she could then level up any ability she wants kinda like having item 3069 elixir of skills for every dragon kill
