Primary role preference and weighting - empirical data showing that primary role doesn't matter much

Hi all,

From what I've read, your primary role should be more heavily weighted than your secondary role when queueing. I am by far best at mid and would queue ONLY to mid if possible, but I don't mind supporting once in a while too. I thought I'd put the system to the test and queued as mid primary and support secondary in 10 queues.

In the games that weren't dodged (and there were quite a few), I got mid 2 times and support 8 times.

On average, I get my desired position (mid) WAY less often than I did less season, at least with this setup. Consequently, I'm having a lot more trouble climbing the ladder.

RiotChomey - you wanted data, right (as you said on Reddit). Here's some data (although a small sample size).

it needs to be a larger size lol. i play mid and jungle, when mdis primary i almost always get it and same for when i make jungle my primary, so for me atleast the function is working as intended.

Support is skewed simply because so many players don't wish to play support. Your sample size is also entirely too small. Try the same thing with a larger sample size and all variants of Mid / Role combos. I typically queue Mid / Jng and tend to get mid 6 - 8 / 10 times.

I am right behind you on this! I came to the board specifically about the que preferences.

I am far better at mid than I am anything else. I que mid and supp. I don't mind supping. I don't even mind supping half of the time. However, I am in my 6th game in a row at support. Not to mention the countless lobbies Ive been that were disbanded. Those were all support as well.

The choices shouldn't be weighed on availability but rather some sort of balance between the two. You should be allowed to play your strongest role AT LEAST HALF of the time.

I am having a very hard time climbing due to the fact that I cannot play my main role. Its very discouraging and encourages a lot of people to just alt + f4
