Releasing New Champions when the new season starts?

For some reason every time season restarts , when my placment matches are the most important, players "test" the new champion releases in ranked. And of course they will int and play them in dumb rolls. It's so frusterating when I see a new champ lock in in my placement game and I automatically know it's a loss, especially on my other acc. I tried banning it once but the player gets mad and starts to troll pick champs even more. Does this happen to anyone else?
